The recent issue of Edge does show how difficult gamers can be. Retro realised that if they were to release Prime 2 with new controls they would be criticised so they changed it (and lets face it the only way to really change the series is to add story and to add more characters) and came under scrutiny by Edge. In the same issue Pheonix Wright 3 was criticised for being the same as the first two games. How can developers win?

On top of this there does see to be a school of thought wihin games journalism that believes 'every game must innovate' and this is at it's worst when RPGs are concerned because heaven forbid a turn based battle system be used.

As you can probably tell i have a chip on my shoulder about this but i will say gamestm does a pretty good job of avoiding it.

What i find bizzare about phoenix wright 3 though is that every review ive seen for it has been 90% so what score did edge give it.
If they scored it badly just to piss pople like me of the mission accomplished.
