Post by Dom » Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:33 pm

And feel like my life has returned to me again

Anyone else had any particularly addictive online experiences they got over or are still a part of? I know a lot of people who play Battlefield waay too much.

My Xfire account tells the story 137 hour of Battlefield 2142 and 136 hours of Guild Wars. haven't played either in a long time though.

I spent way too much time playing Phantasy Star Online when it was first released on the dreamcast. I got three characters up to level 100. I used to cancel nights out so I could go online instead - tragic really.

Even when the Gamecube version came out I got one character to level 115 and then gave up.

Exactly the same thing as you Dom as you know. Level 60 rogue who did raids everyday from 6pm-10pm, if not doing raids i would waste the other hours of the day doing quests and other stuff. TBC came and the guild i was in fell apart, it was then that i realised i was in the game because of my friends.

Once it split apart, my account was cancelled and i was free!

I have a friend who did the exact same thing. We both vowed never to sign up to another MMO ever again! They are evil evil things.

Yea Itchigon same here, I still log onto vent to chat with some of my old guild mates... but damn it feels good to be free!

I played the beta and it's just WoW with less appealing features, if you've played WoW you've played them all really.

I too am a former PSO addict, I recently tried PSU on the PS2 to feed my cravings and it was meh so that saved me, but no I have a pc capable of running PSO Blue Burst (free to download, 14 day trial, then £5.99 every 4 weeks after that) and think I'm gonna catch the bug again.

Not true, WoW has an awful PvP system, EVE online and Dark Ages of Camelot probably have the 2 best PvP systems of the MMO's that I've played tbh.

Roll on Warhammer online!

That is true the PvP system is very poor, i was focusing more on the PvE side aspect of kill x many, gather x.

Yup, fellow Wow addict here - level 60 female gnome warlock on Scarshield Legion ()

Was in a heavy RP guild run by my brother and I made so many really good friends. Alas my brother started to get pi$$ed off with the day to day running of the guild and it kind of fell apart - since then more and more friends started logging off for good and I started to lose interest.

My 360 is my new addiction now :)

I bought a 360 with the money! :D And yes I played the LOTR beta and Itchigon is right, very similar to WoW with more detailed graphics. I didn't play the PVP on it so can't comment on that area.

But like I say, I won't be touching Warhammer, LOTR or any other game like that again. Soul consuming games.
