Haven't we already got one of these threads floating about?
http://gamestm.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.ph ... ight=music
Do we really need to keep rehashing the same old topics?

Crowbar
Oh wow - Crowbar - they're just so..... heavy - if you ever want a definition of heaviness in music (and I don't mean like thrashy noise I mean actual weight of music) check out "Crowbar - ...And Suffer As One" from the album Odd Fellows Rest. *moshes*
Hendo wrote:Bitches Brew and In A Silent Way are two of the best albums you may ever hear, though I initially thought Bitches Brew was a big pile of wank.
I still can't get into Bitches Brew - the only song I really like off that is "Miles Runs The Voodoo Down" because there's a guitar part in it! Bebop is tough to break into I guess.

And just as I've written that I see rumblecat was in exactly the same position!!

Some random special bands to me:

Tool, Goo Goo Dolls, Rammstein, Joe Satriani, Esbjorn Svensson Trio (EST), Bonobo, Amon Tobin, Sevendust, Dieselboy, Sepultura... wait a moment, there's a much easier way to do this...

Hendo wrote:No you haven't, you just broke the un-spoken rule of the GamesTM forum (which I am now typing, therefore now it is spoken, or something) which is you fell into the trap of answering one of meu's attempts at stirring the shit. Most people just ignore it.
There's a reason this place has been quiet recently.

And yeah sorry, rumblecat, thought I could do with a change again.
:)
Usually I would respond to this (which I'm sure is Hendo's intention), but my only response is this non-response. So I would appreciate it if you wouldn't stir either.

I just copied and pasted from my myspace (yes, a myspace), so I don't judge you for not putting your favourite hundred bands. Though this is just the same as the other music one, isn't it?

You hear that mue, eh eh. :D

Bloodbath McGinty was it the Jeff Lewis Band that you said you liked? If so, I f*cking love them to. Saw them supporting Nina Nastasia last year and he blew me away. Especialy the wee onstage music videos that he makes up with the flipboard. Bought one of the comics from the merch stand just so I could bet the CD with the history of punk song on it.
Since you have similar taste in music do you have any sudjestions of stuff you think I might be into, I'm in a bit of a musical rut at the moment and Arthur Russell and the Foals are the only new addition to my collection in ages.

And I didn't write this list just for this thread, I just copy and pasted it from my MySpace (yes that does make me a bigger sad twat)

Stranglers are excellent, put bands like Razorlight or Green Day to shame. They were real.

Yup that's the Jeff Lewis I'm into... he's really refreshing, massively talented and earnest, but not in a Smug-Cunt-who's-shagging-Gywneth-Paltrow manner. I had the opportunty to see him in Liverpool not so long ago but I was totally broke after buying a 360, so I had to stay at home playing Dead Rising.

I'm also just starting to get into Nina Nastasia via my girlfriend.

If you haven't heard any of these yet, off the top of my head, I recommend ya check 'em out Switch:

Dananananaykroyd... ("fight pop" from your neck of the woods, but I figure you might have already heard them)

Owls...

Field Music...

Make Believe...

The Advantage...

Do Make Say Think...

Half Man Half Biscuit...

I've got a headcold.

I've got a F*cking throat infection, I'll swap you :D .

I saw Field Music supporting the Futureheads on their News and Tribute tour, wasn't that taken by them. I've seen Dananananaykroyd advertised on a bunch of Blitzkrieg Bop posters about the city, but I've never checked them out, will do now.
Thanks for the rest to, will be YouTubing and iTuning them. Here's some Jeff Lewis on stage music video for you as a way of thanks :D :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5_0Bsy9JJg
