Laminate Flooring.

Post by Skev » Sun Mar 11, 2007 12:12 am

Anyone got a website or guide on how to do this type of thing ?
Bit random I know but what the hell.
Looking at getting rid of carpet in bathroom and replacing it with laminate tyles or sheet flooring.
Any guides ?
Danke!

Just go to your local B'n'Q or something, they have guys there that specialise in this sort of thing, they can even give you a demonstration instore. But they might also try and sell you a bunch of stuff, so you've been warned.lol

Just be careful that it isnt too slippy when wet as that could cause a serious accident

We were looking at getting wooden flooring but it would upset the dogs

The idea is this.
Removed carpet from bathroom.
Replace with flooring. Silicone seal all edges and sides to prevent water seeping in.
I went to B&Q today. It was horrible. Just need a guide as to what type of underlay i need and the best way to keep it in place really.

What flooring are you going for? Personaly I'd go for floor tiles in the bathroom. I don't think laminate flooring is the best idea because it can warp when it gets wet. If you want a cheap option go for lino.

There is a pdf instruction leaflet on the Wickes website

http://www.wickes.co.uk/content/ebiz/wi ... gil/53.pdf

It is quite easy to do - I have done a couple of rooms in my house with it - but I dont think I would do a bathroom in it - they dont react well with water :)

I have laminate in most of the rooms in my house, it is great. Got the V Groove made by uniclick, looks great down, just like the real thing.

Hey this is great- we should have a DIY section! -think it would really take off...

-Seriously tho- i was looking for hints and tips on how to monblock a driveway a few months back and couldn't get any decent info anywhere.
Ended up paying someone to do it- they did a decent job mind so it was fine in the end.
