Useless games characters

Sort of similar to the Silent Protagonist Thread, what games characters are there no point to whatsoever? I nominate Dan, the so-called street fighter. He's just ryu with less stuff, and extra useless stuff. So you get 3 super bars, to do what? A massive big ****-off taunt. Yaaay! Take that, in your face etc while they hit you with an ACTUAL move.

Doesn't have to be a beat 'em up guy/girl though, could be a pointless rpg side character who you never use/need. (Yuffi?)

Dan was introduced as a parody of a fighter in an SNK game I think, after SNK copied Ryu from Streetfighter - all explained on good old Wikipedia

Personally i like Dan.He sucks as a fighter,but i find it highly amusing to roll around taunting the entire match.
Then me and my mate both choose him,and both roll round yelling taunts.
Ah,happy days

I know he looks cool in the new MGS but I really did't like this character at all. I couldn't connect with him as I did Snake.

Thought of another one, Bosconovitch from tekken 3. An advantage when fighting someone is the ability to stand up for prolonged periods of time(Though it never hurt professor X in mutant academy, his psychic fireballs ruled). In saying that, it meant you could hit him with many combos. As much as I love him, kimhari in FFX, you don't even need him. He's like an inferior Auron. And even when it's his battle at Gagazet, their level is adjusted accordingly anyway.

Alot of people miss the (supposed) point of Raiden, he's green, Snakes a vet, your cast as Raiden so you can see Snake in a different way to what you did in MGS... Don't ask me what that all means though, its just the impression I got from the bonus DVD on MGS2

Me too! Dan is comic relief and an opportunity to really rub a win in your competitors' nose! I love his version of Akuma's raging demon, and the move where he signs the photo.

It's worth me saying, that for all of Dan's weaknesses, there are other characters that I'd rather not play as when my gaming buddies and I choose to fight some random battles on SF.

Well, so far ive found Penelo in FFXII to be pretty useless. It could just be me though as XII lets you build characters how you see fit and well i just dont like her.
