anyone had any luck burning CDI images (of freeware games & legal backups obviously) and using them on the dreamcast?
I have some that work but have no luck buring them myself.
tried diskjuggler, alcohol120% and dreamboot but just ended up wasting alot of blank cds.
if anyones had success can they let me know what they used,
cheers

Mine seem to work everytime now
The ones that come .mdf & .mds format need to be burnt with Alcohol . Just open the 'image burning wizard' then find the file you are after . I think its the .mdf one that needs to be selected , anyway its always the smaller file of the two (usually only a few kb)
.cdi can be burnt with Disc Jugglar or with what i use (Prassi ONES) which is a very useful tool . ONES can also burn .BIN & .CUE files
.nrg files are to be burnt with Nero .
*remember when burning always burn at around 2x speed this applies for any kind of software you are using .
Not sure if this will solve any problems you are having but thats the basic idea of it .

Not posted on here for ages, so hello again and all that
The later models of Dreamcast had problems playing cd based games. Sega tried (a bit late) to stop piracy, and the downside of it is that some people cant play legitimate homebrew stuff.
For the record, like Skynet, i used Alcohol120% and discjuggler, but i'm a bit out of practice

thats the thing, i have homebrew games and boot disks that do work, but i didn't burn them myself.
have followed all the online instructions for various techniques and none of them work.
i've got a 4 player homebrew version of final fight (featuring streetfighter characters) that i'm desperate to play!
