Region free?

Post by rumblecat » Tue Mar 06, 2007 11:58 am

Just a quick question- is the Xbox 360 and the PSP region free? Like, if I'm away in Asia and pick up some games, will I be able to play them on my UK bought machines?

PSP definatly is. 360 isn't really I suppose. It's down to the games not the actual hardware. Theres probably a list somewhere of region free ones

360-wise... check out the 360 section on play-asia.com - they have a section with all the available region-free games.

note: although they tend to be the \"Asian\" versions, it's just the box/manual that's in that language whilst the game is still in english. they also tend to be much cheaper than the same game's PAL version.

Cheers guys. I had a feeling the 360 might not be, but that's good news about the PSP. Checked out play-asia, nice to see how easy they make it to find out whether something is region locked or not, that's helped a lot.

Appreciate it. :)

Because of Sony's lawsuit against Lik-sang most importers dont ship psp games over here anymore, so you might want to try ebay for your psp games.

Unless anyone knows of a place that does still ship to britain?

MovieTyme.com/VideoGamesPlus.ca for US games, YesAsia.com for JPN/US.

It's okay, because any games I'm buying are going to be sent to Thailand anyway- I just wanted to check I didn't need to buy new consoles to play the games.

But cheers anyway. And thanks for the links, RetroEd.
