Anyone gonna try for a laugh? Is it any good? Do you really need a monster PC to get the best out of it? Discuss....

Everyone I've talked to so far has said its a big bucket of shite. You shouldnt upgrade until atleast Service Pack 1 because its no doubt full of bugs right now.

I'm going to wait a while for the same reason as Scot. I'm in no hurry anyway because regardless I can get it from my Uni for free.

My sister got it with her new laptop and after trying it for an hour session the only good thing about it is the search thing. It can find what you need really fast, almost instantly without having to open search like in XP.
The rest of it is alright i guess, nice looking desktop but Mac's still own in that department.
In Conclusion, some christians may think that...woah turned into RE question there. It's not worth the £100+

My company (and I) share the same policy on new software, a cautious wait and see approach. We've got a couple of machines set up with it but I haven't had a play with them yet.
I won't be looking at upgrading my machine at home until next year at the earliest. Let someone else find the bugs and security loopholes!
Ditto for IE7

erm- whats up with XP pro?- cost me a fortune for it! -i'm hardly gonna rush out and spend another small fortune on a new system- slightly more secure perhaps? - but still a relative unknown in terms of security.
I'll no doubt upgrade when i decide to upgrade my current PC- in a year or two.

if your going for Vista make sure you have over 1GB of RAM for games as its a RAM whore! i think its round about 300MB it takes up for general processing which is why you see all these \"Vista Ready\" pc'S WITH 512mb im steering well clear until things get a bit cheaper

Vista is pointless. I had a go in PC World and it is just XP with better graphics IMO.
