no problem. It kinda makes me feel warm inside that you feel comfortable enough to post something so personal in here.

During my girlfriends pregnancy she started gushing with blood and we thought she might have lost the baby. Of course it took the doctors over an hour to take a look at her (fuckers) and their diagnosis for the incident was "I dont know what it is but you can go home". She was fine, the baby was fine obviously. But anyways she sounds alright mate.

Although when it was happening I said a prayer telling god id christin the child if he made sure everything was ok. All powerful beings will believe anything you tell them.

I take it that I've missed a spam attack on this thread then?

Anyway, the diagnosis is something called placenta previa. I'm told that it happens in 1/200 pregnancies. The placenta is in the wrong place and blocking the way out (inside of the cervex). As the cervex changes size the placenta gets torn and bleeds. Last Friday Carly lost about a pint of blood in less than a minute. If any of you have any first aid experience you will know this is bad (average person is meant to have 8 pints of blood). Carly is back in Hospital again after some more bleeding and so I am home without her (they wouldn't let me stay this time). I stayed Friday night just gone, but tonight is her second night on her own.

When the bleeding was at it's worst there were a number of REALLY BAD things that could have happened. None of which I can comfortably repeat, but I'm sure you can imagine the worst case scenarios. I just hope everything is okay. I feel so helpless and wish there was more I could do.

Thanks again to everyone who has shown an interest and offered words of support.

Regards.

do they know if they will be doing a c-section yet?At least she is in the best possible place at the hospital.

That must have been so scary for all involved-

Hope she and the mini munchkin are ok and you of course

PRNelson, sorry to hear about this - you must be very stressed out. When is she due to give birth? Sorry if I missed that at some point in the thread.

Light a candle and say a prayer. I always do that if something has happened where hope is needed.

C-section is an uncertain possibility at this stage. Quite likely though I think.

The due date was meant to be May 15th. Just have to see how close to that we can get!

Well atleast you know whats going on mate. When it happend to my girlfrined they just sent her home with no explination. Then after the birth they left placenta inside her even though she told them she felt like it was still there. Guess what, it got infected and she was rushed to hospital and was stuck there for 2 weeks. All this after being stuck in hosptial after the birth for 5 days because they lost the babies details twice.
