East is best. Become as weeaboo. One of us.

Also I need someone to play ahead a bit and give me the heads up on these chapter ones. Else I'm playing Bloodborne until March next year.

After Ys I’m starting this.

A 50+ hour JRPG followed by a 90 hour JRPG.

#livingthedream

Also a 100 hour JRPG in September too (DQXI HYPE)
This sounds like hell

Anyway. Let’s start this thing in earnest and see what it’s all about

Today Square Enix announced on the official Twitter account that Octopath Traveler passed a relevant shipments milestone.

To be more precise, the game passed a million between shipments and digital downloads. The tweet, that you can see below, thanks players for their support.

Bit late but the different printable cover artworks are available in Europe now as well: https://my.nintendo.com/rewards/53a28d0dea0d3175

Still have to play this, sometime. I'm almost done with Ys VIII but I don't feel like playing this right now for some reason. Might wait until after Tomb Raider.

Did anyone end up playing this? It sold beyond expectations apparently and I was thinking about it being my new year solice to break up being arse kicked in Smash.
Is it on the Switch?

The characters not interacting outside of little one-on-ones was a deal-breaker sadly and I found constantly starting a new story over and over very disruptive to the momentum of it.

I think its whole conceit is honestly quite bad. Fighting level 5s with a level 20, level 10 and level 5 led to weird pacing and power issues.

It's also got that annoying problem of a high encounter rate making you lose track of where you were.

I think even Blakey was like "yeah it ain't all I'd hoped for". But I will say the battle system is very very good.

I heard that the designers actually don't intend you to recruit all 8 party members, you're supposed to go for four and play with those four. Maybe it's better that way

Interesting. It has generally good reviews, so maybe a little you tube investigation to suss out the best way to approach it might be in order.

Sticking with 4 characters might be a decent hint straight off. Maybe you could play the game twice with different 'builds' like in Elder scrolls.

I have the CE still sitting here unopened and it will probably be one of the first games I play come next year.

I'd say we could do it in tandem and talk about it but by then the forum will have moved to the digital graveyard.

What? Is this forum going?

Mfg seems a reasonable back up. I've already joined but have never posted.

But yeah, I'll set out in the new year Mary, if you want to compare notes. Still got to get through RDRzzzzz....and Torna the golden country.

End of the month then :(

Looks like we'll be moving over to mfg. It makes sense. It has the same feel, in both layout and tone from what I've seen
