Is it all about the glory of online, no characters and no story?
There’s a story and sounds like limited NPC’s. At the least just to give you a static enemy. But yes it is very online focused by the sound of it.

Hmm...I don’t know about this new Fallout game. There are a lot of things that sound cool about it, but the idea of heavy greifing is such a potential turn off, but also sounds like the most fun.

Itks a double edge sword, right. Like going out and co-oping and achieving and completing and beating sounds great. But the thing about online games is it is so easy for all of that stuff to happen to you. Which even if there is 0 penalty it still destroys the experience.

Half my problem with Sea of Theives is I really wanted to take other players treasure. But the 5 or so times me and the crews I were on encountered other players we got very, very wet. Which really helped spoil the only part of the game that felt alive.

I don’t know. I like the idea of maybe co-op an entire Fallout game. That could be fun.

Who wants to join my nuclear wasteland crew?
G’damn it, Jax make me immediately bump my own post

Apparently the game is divided into zones, and even though you can complete it all on your own, sounds like some of those areas are begging for help

I've heard someone suggest a karma level as in F3.
That way you'd be able to see which players have bad karma (via griefing and general wankerness) and so you can avoid and jump to another (more friendly) server.
That would certainly help.

Well, I don’t know. That wasn’t referenced in the doc at all. I don’t think you get to know what server you’re on.

Todd Howard is a big fan of the potential “collisions” between multiple players and traditional systems. Even if you can play this game solo and not engage with other players or online systems, there is nothing to stop these things engaging with you.

Which again, potential for a lot of fun but also a lot of bullshit. Last thing you need is dickheads just wandering around with fatmans and blowing everyone up

I think that Karma suggestion was part of one of the many Fallout 76 petitions.
Of course being a dick can be fun sometimes, as is what usually happens with GTA.
Some games lend themselves well to that kind of gameplay, some don't.
Fallout is to me and many others, a plodding, solitary story driven game.

Having said that, I haven't played TESO, so I don't know if it's as good as or better than Oblivion/Skyrim.

Every single person who signs that petition will buy the game day 1. Either to change their opinion or buy it and justify their rage.

Fucking.

Also quick google search tells me Fallout 4 sold 12 million copies

Quick calc says that 15,000 signatures is 0.125% of 12 million

But Fallout 4 was sold as a Fallout game and part of the series.
This game isn't, its aiming at a new audience. An audience which can get their cheap kicks elsewhere.
RPG gamers are different than the muck you get playing online shooters.
Its all about the immersion, the story and the character building.
Fallout 76 has none of that.
I'll be perfectly happy to cancel my Pre order.

But you haven’t

And it is only an online shooter in the loosest of definitions. By the fact that the game is online and you shoot things.
