Next Big Thing

Post by maf-me-quick » Wed May 02, 2018 11:28 am

So God of War is out and is either finished or getting finished by most people on here. What is the next big game coming out for people? For me I’m totally at a loss and have stuff I should catch up on from early this year (Namely Dragonball and Monster Hunter) But in the horizon all I see is Spider-Man. There must be a another awesome game between now and then, right?

Also E3 in 6 weeks y’all!

I'll probably pick up Detroit. I'll play Destiny DLC till I'm bored then play Detroit and Yakuza 6 I have waiting. Should be something else out by then.

Destiny September DLC, Red Dead and Spider-Man are on my end of year list.

Octopath Traveller. That's the one I've waiting for all year. But I reckon Ninty have something major up their sleeves for E3, because they keep going on about selling 20m Switches over the next financial year
Is it on the Switch?

For me it's Detroit, Octopath Traveler, Soul Calibur VI and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Edit: and Mario Tennis Aces of course.

In between those I'll try to play Forgotten Anne which looks really damn good (check it out).

Surprised there's no love for the Dark Souls Remaster.

I dunno. I guess I'll try and get Soul Calibur VI. I think I'm just cautiously optimistic about Spider-Man because while it looks great there is something about it not doing it for me, and I really can't put my finger on it. Same with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Also on the fighting game front is BlazeBlue Tag Battle which I'm not totally sold on but I think it may be the closest thing I can get to a new Persona Arena game.

I don't think I've seen it talked about a lot here but I'm quite looking forward to Onrush; an arcade sort of racing game with a lot of smashing from ex-Evolution folk.

I guess I'm looking forward to the new Tomb Raider but it's a bit early to get excited.

But I suppose I had no intention of getting God of War until about a week before it came out so who knows.

More than likely. The previous game ran like a retard on stilts even on a relevantly powerful PC.

Like the premise of permadeath co-op though. Who's going to leave who behind and how will that affect our friendship?

One thing that turned me off big time from Onrush was that it's not exactly a racing game. From what I saw you drive along a certain route and smash up as many opponents as you can. Doing so will increase your team's score and the first team to arrive at a certain threshold will win the 'race'.
Could be fun and all but definitely not what I was looking for.

Anyway, one game I completely forgot to mention yesterday: Jurassic World Evolution. It's totally not my genre and the last time I played something like this was some Rollercoaster Tycoon stuff on Windows 98 but this just looks too good to pass up on if you like the movies and books of Jurassic Park as much as I do.
