Forward.

Though I was never interested in the Life is Strange games I did (mostly) enjoy Remember me viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21011&hilit=dontnod ... 15#p538359 , with the developers building a rich and pretty world to explore.

This new one might looks a bit dingy by comparison but hopefully the world and supernatural lore they look to have created will be just as rewarding to explore, time will tell.

So anyway Dontnod has a new single player story RPG coming out in June so thought it time for a closer look.

In Vampyr, you play as Jonathan Reid, a doctor in 1918 London newly-turned into a vampire following his return from the Great War. His convictions blown away, Reid discovers the existence of a dark new world where supernatural creatures and secret societies live together in the shadows... and he is now part of this world.

As a newborn vampire shattered by an irrepressible thirst of blood and thrust into a strange new world, Reid attempts to interpret the supernatural in the best way he knows how: rational thinking. However, between ancient societies, mysterious murders and an imminent large-scale vampire hunt, his scientific assurances are challenged like never before. Driven by a personal desire to learn who caused his transformation and why, Jonathan Reid continues working to find a cure to the devastating disease that decimates its citizens.

But doing so, he must confront his nature as a blood-drinker and the terrible temptation to feed on those he swore to protect…

:| interesting that you gain Exp. by feeding on NPC's and not by beating foes, how many innocents will I kill just to gain new powers ?

You need to feed to survive long enough to save the city, but you must also be prepared to live with the consequences. Fathers, store-owners, priests, killers, thieves… cursed be the choice. Who will you sacrifice for the greater good?

Seems Dontnod want you to suffer or enjoy every time you murder :? , do like the use of the cello in episode 3 its an instrument you hear in a lot of horror films so fits here nicely.

Oh man, you’re missing out if you haven’t played LiS. It was free with PS+ a few months back, give it a go.

Ever since LiS I will pretty much buy anything Dontnod put out.

This is available for £21 on PC on CDKeys at the moment by the way, 5% less with a FB like too.

Haven’t bit the bullet yet as I’ve bought a lot of stupid shit but I will at some point before release.

Life is Strange is good.

Question is do you like Mean Girls? Or Twin Peaks?

Do you think that Final Fantasy Spirits Within is the best science fiction of all time?

These are the questions you need to answer.

Also maf you fuking cunt I forgot about this one this is another game I loved   :)

I love both Remember Me and LiS so this has been on my list since its announcement. There are some aspects that worry me a bit but I'm still giving it a try on day one.

Was previewed in an article in issue 198, some doubts about the combat and the balancing but certainly an intriguing premise (set during the Spanish Influenza outbreak of 1918).

Yeah have that issue sitting but after the atrocious KCD review its at the bottom of my to read pile, anyway....

 oh feck me, bloody hipsters and their vinyl.

Whether you’re anticipating Dontnod Entertainment’s upcoming action RPG or just a collector of vinyl records, the French game developer has you covered. Select retailers will bundle a limited pressing of Vampyr‘s soundtrack when you preorder the game. Unfortunately, those who live in North America will be left out.

Various retailers from France, the Nordics, Spain, Benelux, Poland, Austrailia, and Portugal will have the vinyl soundtrack limited to those who preorder the game. Additionally, early buyers in Germany and Australia will be able to pick up the Limited Edition version of the game for PS4 for the same price of the standard edition.

It was announced on Twitter that narrative-driven roleplay game Vampyr has gone gold just a few weeks before its initial release.

A fifteen-second video was also tweeted on Thursday featuring an Ekon in action. Ekons are modeled after more classic vampires like Dracula.

Haven't watched anything about this after some initial clips. Will go in almost blind and am hoping for an enjoyable B-tier game with hopefully either a good narrative or good combat (seems unreasonable to expect both to be honest).

Why are people excited anyway? Just cause of LiS?

Genuine question, why do people find this thing appealing?
