I honestly don’t know how anyone plays this undocked with the joi cons detached. Got to be using a pro controller and the screen is so fucking tiny if you aren’t holding it an inch away from your face
WUT.

**** paying £60 for the Pro controllers, Joy Cons are great with extenders and also great in the cradle.

Undocked it bad enough, but undocked with joi cons detached. Unusable.

How do people play with joycons. Bayo feels awful with them and Link keeps crouching when I play BOTW.

I don't like the Joycon analogue sticks. They're good enough to be used in handheld mode because it's hard to do proper 'portable' sticks but I can't imagine playing everything with those things even when docked. I don't even remember when I last removed them from the Switch, it's pretty much handheld mode or TV mode with Pro Controller for me.

I’ve played through Zelda, XC2 and other big games with the Joycons in cradle mode, played through a fair bit of certain games with split JCs too.

I’ve honestly no idea what the hell y’all are going on about, except that you got a Pro controller day 1 so going back to JC doesn’t feel as good (which I can get).

Yo-Kai Watch 4 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MpWRgyP9NE

Despite the horrible framerate (which I hope is just the video's fault) this looks really cool. There seems to be something about three playable characters in different dimensions at play as well.

Have you played any of the previous Yo-Kai games, Mary?

I played the first one. It lacked a lot of polish in some pivotal areas (no quest markers whatsoever, very obscure catching mechanics, very passive battle system) so I didn't play very far but the general idea behind it was pretty cool and I really liked the modern day Japanese suburb setting à la Shenmue 1.

If they have polished some design aspects I'm sure I'll enjoy this one if it ever launches outside Japan.

Hang on no what is this?

I have no intention of trying to play it, but theoretically would it be possible if I made a JPN account?

Yeah and you'd have to set yourself up a Japanese VPN. But you need to be able to talk to people to play an MMO. The language barrier is impossible for these kinds of games.

If you have VPN questions maybe I could answer that stuff for you when I got time

Also fun fact DQIV has a full 3D remake in PS2 which was never released in Europe or US. It also has a fully orchestrated soundtrack. Another fun one to add to the list
