It's still kind of weird. In order for Bandai Namco to be able to promote their game you need to give Nintendo money.

I know it's more complicated that than but in the end it comes down to exactly this and I think it's hilarious and really sad at the same time.

Not playing DS network test then.

Switch Online is bullshit?

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018 ... ingly-flat

Makes sense. Think I’ll just be paying a month at a time when games come out I want to play. Smash Bros, etc.

Nintendo should do their own game pass with the catalogue they got not whatever this online deal is.

Smash Bors. will either make or break this. If people aren't willing to pay for it to play that game online then they never will.

I hope we're going to find out some data about subscriptions numbers in a few weeks/months. I was considering getting it for the save backup but then I realsed I never lost any save data in my entire life so it's probably not worth it even as a precaution.

I wonder if this will incentivise Nintendo to hook dumb, online shit in to their game. Forced multiplayer and the like.

Play online to unlock Charge Beam for Samus in Metroid Prime 4.

Buy new Samus amiibo to get Gravity Suit.

Sonic 1 and some random Mega Drive game now available on the eShop

https://youtu.be/aKK-5AwLMq8

Part of Sega’s “Ages” collection but I don’t know what that means other than the fact these games are really old

Sonic Mania is so fantastic it’s hard to recommend Sonic 1, really. Unless you’re a real old school fan or are curious.

I actually thought AGES was going to be a packaged collection, not single releases sprinkled across multiple months.

Sonic 1 in particular probably has been released on every machine with a screen on it. I definitel am never going to buy it again. I loved it back in the day and still do to a degree but they've re-released it to death.

Oh, hang on they put the drop dash ability from Sonic Mania in to this AGES version of Sonic 1. That’s kind of crazy. Can you spin dash also?
