Final Fantasy III DS

Post by SKYNET » Fri Jan 05, 2007 8:28 am

Has anyone got hold of it yet ?

I was gonna start FFVII again the other day when I remembered that this game was out , I wasnt expecting much but I was pleasantly suprised !
Quite a few bits that have reminded me of FFVII so that was cool .
I like the oppurtunity to be able to choose different jobs for the character .
They have done an excellent job with the graphics and sounds aswell .
Surely this is the largest DS game yet ?!?!? I have been at it about 16 hours now
Its the first RPG i have played and actually stuck at for a long time !

I've been playing this for some time now. It's a good game for the DS but not a classic like FFVII or FFVIII. The graphics remind me of FFVII while the style reminds me of FFIX.

As far as graphics are concerned, they look mostly pretty but are not very clear in some cases. Compared to FFVII the characters look a lot better but the backgrounds can't compare to FFVII's pre-rendered loveliness.

Special mention must go to the game's impressive FMV opening, I never thought I'd see something like that on the humble DS. The sound is also amazing, so clear and so good, excellent job.

Gameplay or story wise it won't set the world alight. Underneath it all, it's a very old game after all.

Overall a great RPG for the DS and reason enough to stop me importing FFXII till I've finished it. I'm just thinking how great FFVII would look on a DS Lite (provided Square could fit it into a DS cart)

Does anyone know a site where I can import this? I tried Play-Asia but they're out of stock...

The intro is great , some of the FMV intros on DS seem to be quite blocky .
They did a good job with that one !

Would be nice to see FF7 on the DS ! No idea how they would do it lol
I wonder if they will remake anymore games ?
Secret of Mana would be nice !

Really good game, but savepoints in dungeons and a bit more epic CGI would have been nice.

Yeah, but it powers off the console so it's a bit pointless really.

Yes it's a bit silly but I normally play FFIII in 10-15 minute bursts so I just quicksave and turn the machine off :P

The remake takes advantage of the Wi-Fi hardware of the Nintendo DS in the form of a Mail/Mognet system similar to what was in Final Fantasy IX. Various moogles in the game allow the player to send mail to others.
