I think we'll take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Awesome film, right up there in my top ten next to The Star Wars Trilogy (that counts as one!) and Ghostbusters. ;)

It is good, like most films though, it needs more Kung Fu. Not nearly enough Kung Fu in it for my tastes.

That is hilariously bad in places. Great cameo from Kareem Abdul Jabar or whatever his name is. (The basket ball player in Airplane)

What a swan song, watch out for the scenes edited together with doubles and old footage, masterful.

My fave kung-fu film is Fist of Legend with Jet Lee, there is a point about halfway through the film, after which it's basically kick ass kung fu until the end credits.

I just watched Sky Blue, which was interesting, but not great despite some superb animation. Reminded me of Appleseed (the remake) with it's mix of cgi and traditional animation.

Tonight's film is Requiem for a Dream, which I'll tell you all about soon...

After smoking the worst rolled joint ever concieved by mankind (and rolled by myself) I got the sudden urge to watch Battle Royale - which I did.

God that film is absolutely stunning!!! Besides the obvious fight with the Boss , my favourite bit was when the Japanese guy challenged him out in the woods, and they fought blindfolded. Jet Li thought it wasn't fair the Japanese guy got dust in his eyes, so offered to blindfold them both to even it up again. Such honour. Very tense bit of kung fu too, as they stalk each other by sound.

However, you can't beat Enter the Dragon in my eyes. Not just for the kung fu, but for the 70's hair and clothes style, and the extreme quotabililty:
Don't think...FEEL. It is like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all of that heavenly glory...you understand?
You have offended my family... and you have offended the Shaolin temple.
A good fight should be like a small play but, played seriously. When the opponent expands, I contract. When he contracts, I expand. And when the opportunity presents itself, I do not hit. It hits all by itself.

Oh, and don't forget that unfortgettable soundtrack by Lalo Schifrin! The hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it.

Yeah the fight with the Japanese guy is awesome, I love the bit at the end where he is something like: \"To understand kung fu you must be at peace with the universe. And now I must be off\"

Then he just goes, what a dude!

I did watch Requiem for a Dream in the end. The most nihilistic film since Nil by Mouth. Superbly directed and acted but so bloody depressing. If you're felling a bit down you do not want to watch this it will push you over the edge.

Just so long as you don't get the urge to watch BR2-it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, and is totally inferior to the original.

Saw Rocky Balboa last night,a damn good film.Granted, the storyline was bollocks as usual ("You passed your medical tests with flying colours" -but 20 years earlier he was told never to fight again?),and Paulie is still an annoying dipstick. But the fight scene was as awesome as ever, and it was powerful to be in the cinema when the training scene kicked in,and THAT music played.Brilliant :D

But it has Riki Takeuchi, loads of fights and someone calling a friend a clumsy duck! And for that reason I love it.

I watched Double team on C4 last night, I don't like Van Damme(or however you spell that bit) but his films are always good for a laugh.

Was that Dennis Rodman in it as well?I caught a bit of it while i was watching Prison Break, seemed ok.

What i don't like in BR2 is the fact that the students are put into 'tag teams',so when one person dies, their team-mate is killed instantly.Meaning half the class is slaughtered in the opening battle. And about halfway through i just couldn't follow the plot anymore.

I think it tries to be too clever really. The second one was written by the director of the first ones son so the message in there gets a bit confused at times since I think the guy was only 20. The guy who directed the first one, Kinji Fukasaku did some good Yakuza films I would reccomend if people like gangster films.

And yes, dennis rodman(and a load of basket ball cliches) was in double team, he was the other half of said double team.

I watched The Commitments last night, quite a funny film but i expected them to become more successful what a great twist to a tale. It wasn't really my cup of tea but i'd give it a 7/10 8)
