I haven't seen Doom yet. As a gamer, I feel this obligation to watch it, yet most of what I have heard about it has been bad! I forced myself to watch Resident Evil and felt thoroughly cheated. Silint Hill wasn't too bad though. Still not great!

Half Past Dead. Steven Seagal plays a criminal who is shot in... uh a shootout

after spending 28mins without a heart beat he is revived hence, 'Half Past Dead'. Its so bad its good (provided you watch it with someone) but the presence of Ja Rule as an actor may put people off.

I saw Goodnight and Good Luck on the weekend, all about the Communist witchhunts in America around the 40s and 50s. Very good film, which drew a lot of paralells with todays climate. Everyone living in fear, no-one standing up for themselves for fear of being tarred with the same brush. Clooney earns major respect from me for this one.

i never really watched it all, my brother had it on tv and i was semi watching it. But it was really really really shit.

Ah, the classics. They should it to our class at uni once, and when it finished everyone left all opened mouth and very quiet. Next week they played Il Postino. Tears all round.

Click this link. Its got Doom, DOA, Super Mario Brothers, Red Vs Blue and Final Fantasy VII if you're interested. Theres also non gaming related movies on there too but why you would want to watch those I dont know.

Just watched Last King of Scotland on a plane. Really good, everything they're saying about Forest Whittaker's performance is true, it's a barnstormer. Although watching films on planes is up there quality wise as bootleg DVDs, filmed off cinema screens. Although they didn't bleep the swearing, which was nice.

Surprisngly funny in places- at least early on...

Totally agree, watched it last week and was blown away by it. A shoe in for best actor oscar in my opinion. I saw Babel recently too, although it's a real slow-burner it really is a great piece of work. If anyone is into fantasy then you all need to watch Pan's Labyrinth, possibly the most creative movie I've ever seen.

There was a documentary on bbc2 last night, that was about that the communist witchhunt and race to build the H-bomb. It really put america in a bad light, more so than now.
