tiny, tiny text?

Post by pal_version » Thu Nov 30, 2006 8:24 pm

finally got round to getting dead rising for the 360. after ages of waiting and wanting this game so badly i have found it to be a pain to play.
the text is so tiny when you talk/interact with people? i cannot read it at all.
i do not have a HD tv, is this my problem? the only other game that has had this problem so far is PGR3. is there a way round this without the expence of forking out for a HDTV?

if you put your console settings onto 60hz it will improve it.Or you can get a scart lead that will fix the problem.
Lost planet was rumored to have even smaller text, but capcom have stated this is not true,i read it on ign somewhere

RGB Scart?

i've got a 28" and it displays fine with a Joytech RGB Scart cable.

bear in mind that the SCART adaptor that fits the three (R, W, Y) cables is not an RGB SCART cable.

The text in Dead Rising is a joke. It's clear and legible on my HD but still stupidly small. Not to mention that you don't control the flow of the text, meaning sometimes you don't have enough time to read it before it disappears  Apparently Capcom are taking note and will be addressing these issues for Lost Planet.

Heh. Just started playing Dead Rising tonight, and I thought exactly the same. Had to lean close to the telly and squint to figure out what on earthw as going on. Major drawback. As if the 360 didn't cost enough, we now have to buy a new ferkin telly too???

If it's the cable that came with the 360, Core or Premium it is NOT an RGB Scart. The core comes with a Composite cable(Red,Yellow and White) with a Scart Block. The Premium comes with a Component cable and the Scart block.

As ToneeBlair says the Joytech RGB Scart lead sorts the problem out completely available Here £11.99 the difference is amazing, not only on the text but it sharpens the graphics up immensely too. Or buy a VGA cable from Gameplay £9.99.

I'm partially sighted and struggled a bit with Dead Rising, but a good television and a high quality cable will improve things a lot.
