Aye Metal fan here, im sure there was a thread on this quite some time ago, still another wont hurt.

Into most kinds of metal from the roots all the way through to N.W.O.A.H.M, though the sooner that fag ass emo phase dies the better.

Not a big fan of punk now either, tho in my early years it was kinda a stepping stone to the scene.

hough at my happiest With A bit of hair metal Gimme some Motley Crue or Skid Row any day of the week.

What would you class as "Emo"? Panic! At The Disco? Fall Out Boy? My Chemical Romance? Good Charlotte? Placebo?

I'm a good ol' fan of the metal, but typically like all kinds of rock. Love almost everything, although Slipknot is a little too extreme for my liking. Love the old 70's bands (The Who; Sex Pistols), as well as the classic 80's bands (Bon Jovi; Aerosmith; Guns N Roses; Kiss), onto early 90's grunge (Nirvana et al) through to the mid-90's brit-pop phase (Oasis; Blur), and everything between then and now.

Current bands I like include My Chemical Romane (I'm Not Okay and Helena are pure genius!); Placebo (Where Is My Mind is euphoric, and a lot better than the original, and Nancy Boy / 36 Degrees really get me going!); System Of A Down (Mezmerize is such a great album!); Evanescence (That high-pitched voice and hard riffs is an excellent combination)

I've also been going through a bit of a retro phase, currently listening to a bit of Queen and Bowie and Blondie for some reason, and recently Meat Loaf!!!??? Lol.

I'm not really a huge metal fan although I'm into a bit everything. I like Tool, Primus, (Early) System of a down, Metallica and Slayer.
If the monkey could type one keystroke every nanosecond, the expected waiting time until the monkey types out Hamlet is so long that the estimated age of the universe is insignificant by comparison ... this is not a practical method for writing plays.

As long as there is a skilled guitarist, and the vocals arn't screamo, I'll listen to it.

Yeah, I spent my formative years with the musical likes of Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Motorhead, Deep Purple, Led Zepp etc etc.

These days the rockiest album I'm listening to at the moment is Wolfmother, a modern band that play a style that is a bit of everything mid to late seventies.

I love the Chilli Peppers, but for one album only - Blood Sugar Sex Magic. Everything else they've done (excpet for a few live Hendrix covers) has been pretty poor. Not particularly metal, I know, but most guys I know who share my tatses also say that's their fave RHCP album.

Other than that, I have a taste for early Queen (everything after Night at The Opera is a bit weak) and some Frank Zappa if I'm really in the mood to listen carefully.

Has anyone heard Pat Boone - In a Metal Mood? Kind of lounge versions of early rock classics, but done with more seriousness than the Richard Cheese stuff. Both worth a listen though, both very funny.

I only like some forms of metal, this includes Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Trivium and Avenged Sevenfold. And not much else.

As for your band Supa, I added you to my Myspace page :D You should recognise my name. You sound pretty tight! Bit heavy vocals for me though.

Yeah, mostly those types, though to be honest I would class panic at the disco more as Pop.

Have You checked out the Latest Black Label Society album, also picked up the latest Tenacious D cd, That got some seriously good tracks on it.

I'm not big into metal really, but I like stuff like Black Sabbath, Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, et, and sludgier stuff like Kyuss and Boris. I'm more into 'indie' (as in the punk kind, not the pop kind) like Black Flag, Jawbreaker, Husker Du, Minutemen, Fugazi, etc. And I have a big thing for folk singers like Tom Waits and Billy Bragg. I just like a bit of everything to be honest, as cliched as it is to say,

I mostly like Power Metal, like Blind Guardian, Manowar, Hammerfall, Dungeon, Dragonforce etc... plus other bands such as Ensiferum(Viking/Folk Metal) aswell as Machinae Supremacy(SID Metal) a metal band that uses a SidStation synthesizer which has the sound chip from the Commodore 64!

Check out Machine Men, they've only had two albums out so far but they're pretty good - they sound a lot like Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff.

Went to see wasp at the Glasgow Garage at the end of October- was a great night. Hadnt seen them since about 1993.

Off to see Maiden play the SECC in December- that'll be the 4th time.

Musically i'm in a bit of a timewarp -love 80s metal- but never really got to know new stuff. Any suggestions are welcome of bands i might like.

At the moment i like Maiden, Wasp, Queensryche, Helloween, Gun N Roses.

See, until recently I could call myself a fan of emo, among my favourites are Fugazi, Rites Of Spring, Jawbreaker, Samiam, Hot Water Music, etc. Now the name is used for something else I can't cause I'll be associated with my chemical romance and the like. There's quite a good site on this matter, click this to see

Anyone else likes melodic metal then check out Praying Mantis too, they've been around since the days of NWOBHM but they're still kickin.
