Messed around with the drum calibration on Taiko no Tatsujin for half an hour and then decided to just play it with the Pro Controller.

It's good fun but there are certain notes that definitely would work better with the drum. I hope I get this thing to work on the weekend.
NOOOOOO You’ve got to use the Drum controller!

It loses its magic on a controller
Yeah, well, after 30 minutes with a new game without actually playing it I decided to go for the alternative. For some reason I didn't find the perfect spot for the delay. It works fine on pad but as soon as I use the drum visuals, music and my inputs are all over the place.

Isn't using the drum kind of the whole point of the game? :P

Guys, seriously. I have the drum. I didn't get it to work. I used the controller instead because it was Wednesday evening and I wanted to try the game before going to sleep.

I will calibrate this thing when I have the time because when I get off work I'm not really in the mood to move a milliseconds display-lag slider around for an eternity to find the perfect delay.
Plus it's not really done well in this game anyway. There's a loading screen between the calibration and the test track and you can't calibrate mid-song.

The PS4 version of Taiko had some serious issues at launch getting the drum calibrated properly. I just use a controller so I never had that particular problem. Issue I have is the song list (especially on the Switch version) just being pretty lacklustre compared to something like DJMax. So I've not really touched it for months.

Yeah, there are a few hits but also lots of misses. The vocaloid stuff is unbearable IMO if you already played Hatsune Miku before for example.

I do like DBZ's theme song though, or the anime section in general.

As well as octopath traveller, I'm really interested in FF 9 on the Switch. Will that one hold up I wonder. It looks great on YouTube, and I've never had a go.
Is it on the Switch?

Spyro the dragon. 🐲

Where's Gnasty I'm gonna torch him

It looks very nice and has the option of the original Stewart Copeland soundtrack (drummer from The Police)

But it's a bit framey on PS4 pro.

How did you know where to go? That looks like a bona fide trial & error mission.

That said it's really pretty. Maybe I buy it at some point, I don't know. Do you still have to download part 2 and 3 or did they use the delay to burn more data on the discs?

If people want a break from RDR's lack of a colour palette I can recommend torching some gnorcs

Image

Spyro 1 is basic but fun. Spyro 2 got more complex levels

All the dragons you rescue got unique designs, which is cute

But both of these games can fuk off up Spyro's dark passage with their shit camera during those flight levels.

I forgot to answer Mary's question

The disc doesn't have parts 2 and 3 for some reason, they cheaped out. I bought digital anyway

I'll wait for a solid pricedrop then. Buying a trilogy on disc that only includes the first game is pretty much a worthless physical version of the game.

Looks really pretty though.
