Re: Things Which Made You Happy Today
Two things:
1) I'm on holiday myself this year. Most people would think why would this make you especially happy? Well I actually don't tend to go on holidays. At all. In fact my last was in 2010. I take time off and thats usually all. Never seem to have the time to go on holiday usually but come this time september i'm off to Oktoberfest..
2) You know when someone says something about you that just sinks in and it actually dawns on you how true they are, well when taken out of context as is the case here I was told today that I am 'too nice'. I laughed but then later in the day it hit me how right my friend was.. something I need to look into.

Re: Things Which Made You Happy Today
After 2 months of having to live in my mum's while a lodger had his way with the house, after doing absolutely nothing at any point to help keep the place clean and basically treated the house like a hovel (to the point where when we first got there it took us 3 days just to clean the kitchen), he's finally decided to up sticks and move on.
This was after he passively threatened me, locked a cat up for 2 days without feeding it and in general was an inconsiderate prick.
The bad news is I'm now in my mum's for the forseeable future. The good news is, we finally have our own room to sleep in (well, we will soon) and the house is actually hygenic again.
Folks, never eat at KFC - apparently the managers there don't know how to keep things clean. At all.

My TV of five years (19" HD 'Ready' Samsung) died recently and thus I decided to buy a new [bigger] one. I paid £250 in a sale for my 19" beauty in 2007/8 and what did the same money buy in 2012?

Same here. B's & C's in English and Science but not Maths despite being in top set Maths throughout school. Math teacher in my last two years of secondary school was an asshole too which didn't help.Andy Kurosaki wrote:Yeah I scraped a D in my GCSE

Yeah, I used my calculator in maths so much that I thought "why pay attention, this does the work for me!". Then of course the Exam excluded calculators so I was totally boned

Cheers, guys. I'll admit the test was quite nice to me. There was stuff in the middle that I wasn't too hot at but the beginning and the end was all stuff I was really comfortable with. But still, a win's a win.

I was told -the day of taking my exam- by my Math Teacher that my course work wasn't upto scratch and i'd be taking the Foundation exam (of which I knew nothing of their work) and not the Higher Paper I should have. Hence 'Asshole'.
Kudos again Maf, whats next?

Re: Things Which Made You Happy Today
Next one is English. It's really easy. Started the work Monday and taking my test on Thursday (Maybe Friday). The written stuff is a little trickier, but the stuff on the computers is like playing spot the difference. I already took a practice test today on the computer part and got 91%, so.
After that it's IT. Going to teach me how to use Microsoft Word and Excel and all that stuff. Should be a little harder because I can do the very basics on Word but have never touched a spreadsheet or anything before. That's expected to take any where between 4-6 weeks.

We spent a whole year of maths classes studying trigonometry. To this day, i have never had the need to work out the are of a triangle.

Think we did geometry for a while. Which was piss-all use. Geometry Wars is more useful
I can safely say, even with my D, that I never feel held back. Vast majority of what we covered in math class, I've never used in real life.

I did something like that in College, it was supposed to take 6 months and I did it in 3 and it covered everything Microsoft. The only one to this day I barely remember is Access..maf-me-quick wrote:After that it's IT. Going to teach me how to use Microsoft Word and Excel and all that stuff.
