xbox live billing question

Post by big mean bunny » Thu May 06, 2010 5:30 pm

anyone had any dealing with the xbox live renew options lately?

my account was due to expire yesterday so I had ordered a 13month off shopto, when this arrived I inputted it (yesterday, the day it was due to expire). However when I checked my email I have an notification from MS saying that my auto renew had taken place as well as an email about my 13 month being added. So now my account is showing as not expiring till 2012. The problem is my credit card expired in 2007 and was cut up and cancelled years ago! I couldn't even say which one it was as they only list the last 4 numbers.

does anyone know what will happen if I add a new credit card, will they just autobill the new one? I am tempted not to, to see if I get away with it!

I'd play it by ear and see what happens. If it's not your card anymore you shouldn't be penalised and if M$ spot the mistake you can be damned sure the money grabbing bast@rds will rectify it.

It is easy enough to phone them and get them to cancel the auto-renew. I did it recently and it was less painful that I expected. Too late now I guess but you may as well do it to avoid trouble in the future.
