Xbox 360 Cable blocking HDMI!!!

Either I'm missing something or that's one stupid frikkin' design decision.
My HDMI cable won't fit with the lead that sits above it. I really hope it's my stupidity and not M$'s.
HELP!

Update: Sound is coming through the TV but the cable is attached to a scart box which feeds through the amplifier. The fat lead is connected to said amplifier from the 360.

As far as i know its not designed to have both cables running from the machine at the sametime.... and i think (if you really need to) the only way to do it is by cracking the grey plastic casing off of the component cable... i've tried it on mine and got both cables to fit.

All sorted. Used the X360 forums and was told exactly the same. Either fork out more money to M$ or crack the case.
Guess what I did?
