Still on this but time-wise down to four or five hours a week,as my old friend list moves on to other games am making new one's,latest is a rather sorry tale its an American lad in his late twenty's who is sadly disabled (partially paralyzed) who finds gaming a helpful distraction,he's logged over three hundred hours on the game but is still only in the top fifty thousand (didn't think it polite to ask how his disability affected his play) unfortunately hes a package deal with his young nephew who consonantly chats about his day in a very squeaky voice, like nails on a chalkboard.

The only other thing worth mentioning is for the first time in weeks played on "soft" and got hammered so used to playing without the mini-map i kept getting killed trying to flank, and as for the drop in killing power ouch got killed many times after turning my back on a foe after putting a burst that would have been fatel in hardcore,it really is night and day between the two and though one hit kill snipers are annoying i still prefer hardcore.

Reading this thread back from the start is like reading the 'Original Bad Company Thread™' from the beginning. All the stories of us wondering round like lost sheep wondering what the hell was going on before cocooning and then emerging as battle hardened squad only to be taken by some Scowling blue on blue mortar action in the thick of it all. That thread was awesome, it had pie charts and slander, everything that makes my world go round. Hoorah! :D

When playing as the Russians it is one of the phrases they say when they either destroy or spot something. Shouting "I'll eat her taco!" became common practice in the game when we were playing.

Got the new update installed :| why not have such images from the get go ? or is it to encourage spec kit uptake.

Why Why Why on hardcore rush defending isla inocentes when a new squad member shot me,as the only one with a headset i did lightly admonish him (Irish by his name) whereupon this t##t proceeded to stalk me killing me a further 12 times  in the end i left the second set we where defending and set up shop behind the bridge on the first set managing to tag and bag two choppers and a Bradley, ended up top player on our side the Irish numpty came last :) so sometimes there is justice in the world (it must be said i did mention this fact, politely of course, only to find the Irish lad bugged out before the next match).
Still find it surprising how few players have headsets on hardcore.

As always this early on PSN its rather quiet, tried three different severs (hardcore) and never mustered more than five-a-side (and not a single headset to be found).

:| I'm afraid i also have to report the of the nineteen PSNF's I've gathered fifteen of which i made exclusively through BC2 none are playing any more, mod racers seems popular,as for myself...i still am enjoying it and most week nights as i have only one to one and a half hours free the two or four matches i can fit in keep me ticking over (but have now dropped down into the sixteen thousands) but to be honest it really depends on the calibre of the other players, crap is to easy, experts to hard i like an even match, and if i lose that's ok (but not a slaughter).

The only other item of note is that i still don't have hat dam sniper pin, just cant get a handle on it much like my chopper skills.

You got it on the wrong system dude, the Battlefield games always have a strong showing on this forum on the 360. Everyone uses a mic too. Shame you don't have one, as it5's an evergreen title on 360. Until the bleeding console breaks that is.

I did reach that conclusion early on whilst on the main thread, but i really wanted Valkiria Chronicles so went PS3 instead looking back its the games i followed rather than the systems, snes over mega-drive for super star wars,PlayStation over dream cast for f.f.7,ps2 over x-box for r.p.g's etc.
Will also admit that the idea of paying over and above Internet costs rankled a bit,on the plus side made a new PSNF today, another dutch lad, hell of a lot dutch on wonder if its an economic thing i.e.high living standards giving the gamers over there more cash for accessories.

Anyway back to the game :
Frustration on isle inocentes today, whilst attacking aggressive snipers where a pain, the ridge line on the right of the road (that safe spot next to the mined road) was annoying as hell nothing like getting killed before you can even get into position, but this new spot on top of the trees to the right of the bridge :x im guessing they (two of them) jumped on the white car to get up there, :? it seemed i was the only one who actually spotted them, got them both of course but they must have cost us twenty tickets between them.
Was enjoying the matches against that side (same names kept coming up) except for the rather bizarre behavior of one of them who (i was defending Isle.I.) fly a chopper clean over the first set of crates to crash on to the second B in the village not once but three times...is there some glitch this guy was trying to exploit or was he just a numpty ?.

 :D :D :D Just read Mike's posting on the main thread the MG36 is getting its red dot on hardcore,oh happy days are here again the sun is in the sky again happy days are here again, just as i nailed the open sight aiming :) oh well.

Previously on this thread/blog (keeps meu of my back)I've listed spectacular, bizarre deaths etc.and the rules of online play,so time for a third topic this time its sniper hides,a real bugbear on hardcore, there now follows three that have come to my attention they stand out because I've only seen them used once or twice meaning there not well known (on PSN anyway),please understand this isn't so much to help snipers as to help the rest of us use spot and kill the sneaky #%&*"#,as a habit now i always try spotting on these out of the way hides just in case.

First up Arica Harbour second set,now most players know about position (1) and its quite easy to reach but it gives poor cover, however position (2) i have only seen used twice so must be hard to reach,on one occasion this gave the sniper a field of fire all the way to the last set where he got me twice(he was that good).

EDIT(9/6/10)- did try to use paint Sly but just don't get it,so did the same as my film quiz entries and took a pic of the t.v.not as snazzy as yours but better than my "artistic" abilities I'm sure you'll agree, and thanks for the maps I've downloaded them all.

Moving on to Nelson Bay second set,now everybody will have used position (1) but position (2) however is directly above it giving an excellent field of fire to defending snipers and also well hidden because of the two trees on the end of the ridge.

As for the third on Isle Inocentes first set I've already mentioned these but here a map anyway, now position (1) is well known and can be problematic as once i had two medics and an assault camping there, position (2) however is a relatively new one with two snipers sitting in the trees to the right of the bridge.

Image

Whilst on the Isle think i will mention my own little spot,if playing on a team with no headsets whilst defending i tend to decamp to the small island to the back right of the Isle this gives me a good field of fire against choppers who as a rule sweep to the right and around the back of the Isle, also gives a fireing line along the right base of the Isle and upper right slopes as well as a line of fire onto the front right island with the ramp for when a sniper sneaks on this spot is also relatively sniper proof its only major disadvantage is being unable to help when a crate is attacked.

OK. Here we go. Click on the image for full size.

Right click on the big image to save it and open it in your paint program. Crop the image to the piece of map you want to show. Like below I cropped the first two crates on Arica Harbour with all the snipe spots that people usually camp up in. You could use these to plan strategies with people you play with as well I guess.

Wow thank you sly for taking pity on this poor Luddite, don't know if I'm up to the task but ill try.

Just had one of the most intense and frustrating matches EVER.

First the bad had some T##T by the name DJ-AK47 follow me around killing me then reviving me now I've read about this but never seen or experienced it i lost count after 20 kills or so it was that bad, sent him a message WHY MAN WHY but it only served as encouragement most frustrating of all he left before the match finished(so no score penalty) maybe he had friends on the other team or maybe he was just a t##t.

Now for the GOOOOOD stuff we where attacking Arica Harbour (hardcore of course),equipped long range fire in an Abrams killing four tanks and blowing both A and B,didn't help much on the second set thanks to the F##KWET then blew B on the third set with R.P.G.s before blowing the last B (R.P.G.s again) with this is the best bit 1 ticket remaining,i got 6030 points with best squad and the ace pin :) but GOD did my kill ratio suck 24/36,36all thanks to DJ-AK47 (and the worst thing was i found myself behind him once but didn't see the point to stabbing him, just to nice by far).
