Just out of curiosity - what set up do you use for mixing?

Yeah D&B is one of those genres that has so many sub genres it's unreal. Dig a little deeper beyond the outer coating of Andy C or Grooverider and you find almost unfathomable depth really. My primary interest for DJing and my label is dancefloor friendly deep stuff, which can take influences from soul, techno, dub, house, trance... It's endless and that's why it keeps my interest. I do get a little tired of pigeon-holing as when people get too pent-up about labelling or focussing on a genre they can miss out on so much.Skev wrote:You can get minimal dubstep as well you know
Really, you cant just pigeon-hole a genre just because you've heard a few tracks. There are so many different styles of music for each genre - which is great! I dont really like drum and bass that much but stuff like this is right up my (back)alley
Haze, have you listened to the Dbridge and Instra:Mental podcasts at all ?

I've heard enough to know that it's just not for me! Just my opinion, like.Skev wrote: Really, you cant just pigeon-hole a genre just because you've heard a few tracks.

Loved Fabriclive 50, it's best enjoyed during a walk on a miserable rainy evening with the headphonesSkev wrote:Have you herad the Autonomic fabriclive ? I thought it was ace. Their "sound" is so colourful and night-time/dreamy. The influences part of their podcasts are excellent as well, some real gems in there.
