Offline tourney suggestions

Post by Soundwave5150 » Wed May 27, 2009 12:57 pm

Hi guys, i'm possibly going to be involved in a games tournament business, do you have any suggestions for what you would like to see at a games tournament? (games/setup/prizes/forfeits etc etc) all input welcome, and of course gamesTM members will be guests of honour for any tournaments

PGR4 & im there mate! :D

SFIV is a must too & some Outrun wouldnt go amiss. Also PES 2009 is essential too. Yeah FIFA may have done more this year but as a multiplayer game PES is still king IMO.

Lastly CoD 4 - the single greatest deathmatch shooter on consoles. Need I say more?

As for prizes - couldnt give a monkeys. May sound clichéd but I just like the taking part in stuff like this. :)

I suggest it because its just really good fun & its a real 'pick up & play' title. Anyone can have a quick blast, love it & do quite well. Whereas those of us who have actualy put the time in to get great at it will have some really tight races. It all comes down to pure skill in the more competitive races.

Obviously you need a projector for showing the final game, the Tekken tournament I was in had the projector for every match, while there was some LAN halo 3 going on seperately, so you could still enter both tournaments. They also had Gitaroo man and Burnout, but I'd never played Burnout before so didn't enter that.
Let's go to the mall!

Make sure that its like player 1 has a screen, player 2 has a screen etc. You don't wanna be going near anything resembling split screen because then you'll get screenwatchers and complaints from the players afterwards if they lost.

worms is an awesome idea! tho the target audience (some of them born in the 90's!) may be a little too young, i'll try and swing it though.
