Pathfinder on your tablet and in your browser, complete with dice and a GM

Roll20, the leading browser-based virtual tabletop application, has partnered with Paizo Games to bring Pathfinder online. The browser-based tool, which also includes an app for iOS and Android devices, is free. An automated Pathfinder character sheet with be available for all on March 22, with several adventure modules to follow. Comparable content for Starfinder, Paizo’s newest game, will come out later this year.

Roll20 began as a Kickstarter and has since become the premier browser-based virtual tabletop application. Game masters log in and prepare the client with materials, much as they would for an in-person game. Players arrive later, and the GM leads them through an adventure as though they were sitting together at a physical table.

The application includes video and voiceover IP and even serves capably as a digital toolkit to enhance real-world games.

Paizo isn’t the first company to partner with Roll20 to provide official content. In 2016, Wizards of the Coast came on board with Lost Mine of Phandelver, an adventure from D&D’s fifth edition starter set, and Storm King’s Thunder, a complete adventure for characters from level one through 11 and beyond. Additional modern adventure modules have followed.

Roll20’s Pro subscribers will be the first to access the new Paizo content when the Pathfinder adventure sheet becomes available on March 6. It will then be free to all subscribers on March 22. The first adventure module will be War for the Crown, with additional content from that series, as well as the Bestiary (Pathfinder’s equivalent of the Monster Manual), to follow. Finally, Starfinder, the spacefaring game released at last year’s Gen Con in Indianapolis, will come out later in 2018.

On Thursday, Russian developer Studio MONO shared a trailer exploring the dystopian world of their upcoming roleplaying game INSOMNIA: The Ark.

Trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd_g_9WFfvo

This most recent trailer reveals much more of INSOMNIA: The Ark’s setting than the teaser trailer that was released back in March. The game takes place on a retro-futuristic space station called Object 6 journeying to find humanity a new home. The space station in question looks like its 400-year mission is definitely taking its toll with pieces of it flying off into space and fiery riots happening in the streets.

GreedFall – E3 2018 Trailer | PS4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBXIsbkOpDA

GreedFall is the latest RPG from Spiders, currently in development for PlayStation 4. Set in a 17th century setting embedded in magic, Greedfall has a unique visual identity inspired by European Baroque art, depicting grandiose sceneries in muted warm colors and dark undertones.

This E3 Trailer reveals the origins of GreedFall’s story, as settlers, mercenaries and treasure hunters, fleeing a continent plagued by pollution and an incurable disease, set foot on a remote island seeping with magic, rumored to be filled with riches and lost secrets. A grand journey filled with mystery follows, as you find yourself in the middle of ever-increasing tensions between the invading settlers and the locals, who are protected by manifestations of the island’s earthly magic in the form of supernatural beings.

With a strong focus on its core RPG identity, GreedFall follows Spiders' experience in building intricate worlds filled with mysteries to discover, weaving deep character interactions, and offering players freedom to achieve quests and objectives in many different ways – through combat, as well as diplomacy, deception or stealth. The island of GreedFall is a living, ever-evolving world. Your actions, from seemingly trivial choices to the most important political decisions, will influence and alter its course, as well as the relationship between the different factions established on the island.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire brought players back into a rich, deep RPG experience earlier this year alongside a new setting and cast of characters, and now those looking for more adventures will have plenty to look forward to in a few weeks with the release of the game’s first major expansion.

Obsidian Entertainment has announced the first of three major expansion packs for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire called “Beast of Winter,” with the expansion itself to release on August 2nd, 2018. The expansion will arrive alongside the game’s 2.0 update, which will provide numerous bug fixes and balance improvements and a new set of challenge modes for veteran players.

A full description for the expansion and what to expect can be found below from Obsidian:

Upon receiving a missive from an isle of worshipers to the god of entropy and disaster, Beast of Winter takes the Watcher and his crew to the southernmost reaches of the Deadfire Archipelago. The Watcher is thought to be the harbinger of the end of all things and worshipers of the god of cold and decay, Rymrgand, have called upon the Watcher to fulfill their destiny.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is available now on PC, Mac, and Linux, and will be heading to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year, while its “Beast of Winter” DLC will launch on August 2nd, 2018. For a closer look at the upcoming expansion, you can check out the debut trailer for “Beast of Winter” below:

Pathfinder: Kingmaker Gets Release Date and New Trailers; Comes With Solid Baldur’s Gate Vibes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGmXmBNx7nM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErDFae9k_v8

Today Deep Silver announced the release date of the upcoming isometric RPG Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

The game, developed by Owlcat Games (with a story by Chris Avellone and music by Inon Zur), is the fruit of a Kickstarter campaign that raised $909,057 from backers, and will finally see the light on September 25th for PC.

It’ll be available both physically and digitally, but you will be able to choose between four digital editions.

The basic explorer edition will cost $39.99 and will include just the game. The Noble edition will cost $54.99 and will include two premium items (a seal that lets you bless your party and a girdle with fatigue and illness resistance bonuses), a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and two additional player portraits.

The Royal Edition costs $69,99 and includes all of the above plus a digital map, a red panda pet, and an adventure module written by Chris Avellone. Last, but not least, the Imperial Edition adds the season pass for $84.99.

If you’re unfamiliar with Pathfinder, it’s probably one of the best pen & paper RPGs ever released. Below you can read more of the story.

“To the north lie the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is based on Paizo’s award-winning Pathfinder Adventure Path of the same name. You certainly don’t need to be familiar with the story, but if you are, you will encounter characters you know and love as well as a host of brand-new events, companions, allies, and threats that expand and enhance the original Adventure Path. With help from Paizo and their authors, the story and quests have been expanded by RPG writer Chris Avellone and the Owlcat team, allowing for even more adventure in the already rich narrative of the Stolen Lands.

While Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a single-player game, you won’t be adventuring alone. “Kingmaker” features a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.”

You can also read about one of the most interesting features of the game, that lets you build your own kingdom.

“We chose to adapt the Kingmaker adventure path because it features a host of open-world mechanics, allowing players to experience the story at their own pace as they explore the Stolen Lands, which will challenge you as both an adventurer and a ruler. Most importantly, the game allows you to claim these lands as your own, letting you carve your own kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court.

As you’ll discover, building a kingdom goes beyond simply building a stronghold: Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.”

And yes, if you’re wondering, romance is also part of the package. If you’re not exactly happy with the direction the Baldur’s Gate series has been dragged on as of late this seems to be a very interesting alternative.
