Creative Zen Problem

Post by Yamato-99 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 7:02 pm

My creative zen vision m wont connect to my computer for some reason. Whenever I connect it, it turns on and will start charging as usual but it doesnt register on the computer so I cant get any songs onto it. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Great piece of kit, but they can be tetchy... First I'd try resetting it with a pin using the little reset button on the bottom. If that doesn't work you might want to try reloading the driver on your PC (though if I recall correctly it's built into Windows Media Player, so chances are this isn't the issue but you never know).

Failing that, you might need to reinstall the firmware HOWEVER I wouldn't do this if it's still under warranty as you may risk bricking it... If it's reasonably new you can always return it and get it fixed for nowt.

Actually Forgot to mention that I had this problem a while ago. It happened when the Mcafee virus protection went away from my computer (free trial ended) it never worked then for a bit. Then when I got AVG Free security on my comp it started working again, if thats of any help to ye.

If it's definitely your computer at fault then there's no point changing the firmware, try rolling back your drivers maybe?
