Broken PSP
Broken PSP
I have a broken PSP. Basically it wont charge, not off a mains adapter or usb link cable. It is outside of warranty but I still want it fixed, I have looked on the playstation website but cant find any instructions, any ideas?
Ive spoken to Sony and because its out of warranty they want charge me £65 to swap it for a refurb!!!!
They wont repair it for me.
I just told the guy that I was sat watching it charge and that it was a minor fault causing a major inconvenience, £65 when it still works.
Does anyone know what sort of place would repair it for me???

Could try buying a new charger:

Or get an external charger for PSP batteries like this one (only for phat PSP though):

I have a full phat PSP bought on UK release day.
Cheers for the continued advice guys, I have tried two chargers and two usb cables with it and get the same problem so I am sure it must be the unit itself, my battery charges/holds charge fine and works in other units.
Sony have not yet responded yet, I'm sure they are just basking in the glory that is my complaint before they hop to and sort me out

OK so the reply from Sony is in my inbox....
I haven't read it yet I thought I would post first and then you can see my reaction in the next.
Whats going to happen??? Will they tell me to get bent? Am I getting my PSP fixed?
Will I be invited to Tokyo to try out the PS4?
At this point anything could happen...
My money is on getting screwed

Well well well,
Am I actually getting somewhere? I am not sure yet.
Basically the e-mail stated that I should reply with my telephone number and a member of the SCEE Management Team would call me back to discuss the issue further.
Now I am not kidding myself, I know it will probably be the 'supervisor' sat next to the guy I spoke to first time around who will tell me the same thing but still you never know!!
By getting a chance to speak to them I think I can get them to come around to my way of thinking.
One problem, the response apologises for the problems I am having with my PS3

OK, the call came.......and.......
Its £80 to repair one!!! Yes thats right, they will repair it but for £80 instead of £65 to replace...
I went on to calmly but firmly explain that this was extorinate and the guy eventually said that (as I pointed out) seeing as I have spent around £2000 on sony products in the last couple of years (not to even mention games) he would be happy to replace it for FREE!!!
Oh yeah, Sony just went back up in my estimation, on a side note the guy was very helpful and a compliment letter is currently winging its way to him via Sony management.
