Square Enix has finally dated Dragon Quest IX. The Level 5 developed DS title will get its Japan release in March 2009. According to Square Enix, the release date is given as "March 2009", and the title has not yet been priced or rated. This comes as apparently Square Enix president Yoichi Wada recently stated that the game would be going on sale "during the New Year's period".

Only 1 1/2 years late ;)

Will probably pick up all of those except the PSP one. That reminds me, i must get Silmeria too. So many PS2 games i want to get... VP2, Odin Sphere, Grimgrimoire, Persona 3 FES, Steambot Chronicles...also i wouldn't mind picking up Ico, SotC, Amplitude...and that's about it.

http://kotaku.com/5100633/lets-learn-ab ... ix-classes
Square Enix has announced info about the five character classes in Dragon Quest IX. We have info about those classes: Warrior, Mage, Priest, Martial Artist and Thief.

Warrior: Master of weapons and sword skills. This strong character is able to handle powerful weapons.

Mage: Master of magic. Powerful attack spells can be unleashed with this character.

Priest: Master of healing. However, the Priest can also throw spears.

Martial Artist: Master of, you guessed it, martial arts. Strong and quick, but not as strong defense-wise as the Warrior class. Claws are used as weapons.

Thief: Fast and sneaky. There is a "steal" command that makes it possible for the Thief class to search for and swipe treasure.

Dragon Quest IX is slated for a March 2009 release in Japan.

Well as i said in the other thread, this is my most wanted game of 2009 (although i have a secret hankering for the Sims 3 aswell, which looks really cool... ). Those were some shocking revelations there Mike. I hope Level-5 haven't thrown out the entire rpg rulebook!
But seriously any news is good news. I have a feeling 2009 will be the year of the DS, for me anyway...

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=323519
Square Enix plans on releasing Dragon Quest: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride here in spring 2009.

The game, a remake of Dragon Quest V, appears in Europe for the very first time, and is another of the Zenitha Trilogy.

Much has changed since the original 1990s release, so Square Enix will be overhauling the visuals and audio for modern audiences, while stuffing in some Wi-Fi options for players to swap items.

Elsewhere though the revamp will be faithful, and follow a boy hero who uses his father's courage to guide him through his life's adventures.

Dragon Quest V was very popular back in Japan, and is apparently regarded as one of the best iterations in the series.

The last of the Zenitha Trilogy, Dragon Quest: Realms of Reverie, will be "coming to DS soon", according to the publisher.
Some new screenshots too:

Never really looked at one of these before but it's actually quite interesting.

http://www.square-enix.com/eng/pdf/news ... 7_02en.pdf

If i'm reading it right, these look like the European sales of SE games from April 1st - September 30th (in thousands)

Crisis Core - 460
FF IV - 180
DQ IV - 140
FF TA2 - 120
DQ Swords - 100
Infinite Undiscovery - 90
TWEWY - 20

I think those Dragon Quest IV and Infinite Discovery figures are pretty good considering they were probably only out for a few weeks by then, but then again, those could be regarded as terrible sales i haven't a clue!

TWEWY was the real loser though, goddamn shame. It's their own fault though, they didn't push it at all.
