Dragon Quest X is coming to the Wii:

Yuji Horii, creator of the Dragon Quest series, revealed at a Square Enix press conference in Tokyo today that the next entry in the role-playing game series, Dragon Quest X, is in development for the Wii.

After announcing the final release date for Dragon Quest IX, which will be released for the Nintendo DS in Japan on March 28 for 5980 yen, Horii confirmed that the series would be returning to consoles for its tenth entry, according to Japanese game site Gigazine. Square Enix released a spin-off, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, for the Wii in 2007, but DQ X will be the first release in the core series for the Wii platform.

The revelation comes two years after the announcement that DQ IX would be released on the Nintendo DS after two entries on the PlayStation 2.

Hmm...who here obsessed with Dragon Quest doesn't have a Wii... Not me! Sorry David.

Seriously while i'm glad i have the console and that it's in development i wish they'd go all out and use the power of the 360/PS3 instead. No doubt it will be the bees knees though, and then some. :)

Surely everyone knows Dragon Quest goes on the most popular console? Anyone could see this a mile off.

Yeah but I want a game that would utilise the power of the PS3/360. We all know it would be bigger and better.

Maybe by then the Wii HD will be out. That might ease the pain a little... :)
