Don't get me wrong i agree with you on the account that they are hideous but again i do honestly think your comment on "not learning currency" is a bit retarded.

You don't walk into a shop abroad and expect the cashier to pick the correct money out of your hand. You indeed, like everyone else have to count it yourself. Numbers or no numbers makes no difference the fact that you still have to LEARN the different coins notes and thier value?

I don't really understand what you mean. When travelling abroad yeah, you would make sure you understood the exchange rate and the value of the currency, but you wouldn't memorise the exact size, shape, colour, detailing etc. of each individual note and coin. You would simply use the big numbers on them to tell how much each is worth. yes maybe eventually you would become accustomed to the notes and coins and you would start recognising them without having to look at the number, but if they weren't even numbered to start with it's going to be a damn sight harder.

My money I use tells you how much it's worth. But when I go to England I get told "yeah we don't accept scottish notes". Yes you do, you're just being a cock.

Problem with Scot notes though mate, is that because not many people are used to them some places won't accept them for the simple fact that they're not sure they real/current etc..

Yeah, my folks send me Scottish birthday money. In Woolies one time the shop assistant thought a Scottish fiver was a gift voucher.

I also had to help out a drunk who had come down to see Wales and Scotland play in our Chinese Takeaway a couple of years back. The guy behind the counter refused to take his Scottish notes, despite my telling him it had 'sterling' on it it, and he had to accept it as legal tender. Eventually I swapped the Scottish tenner for a Welsh one, and everyone was happy.

I've had the 2p so far.

I also don't like the lack of numeral; as for "learning" currency before travelling. Errr no. Went to Paris with work. I know what a euro is and I know the exchange rate. I still looked at the numerals on the coins to count out the amounts I wanted. I suppose I could have got buy with un, deux cinq but it would have been a damn sight slower.

Plus I suppose the euro will always have the numerals on since it's used in countries with different languages. D'Oh, occurred to me after writing the paragraph above.

I can't decide if I like the broken up shield thing. Coins are meant to be individual. It's kinda weird.

Only thing I do like is they've aged queenie again on the back - think she's up to about three chins now in the latest profile mould.
