Worms XBLA crashing

Post by Hendo » Mon Jul 07, 2008 3:46 pm

My net goes tits up (thanks a bunch, TalkTalk) between 8pm and 5am so instead of annoying people by me signing in and out constantly as the net kicks in and goes out (rinse, repeat), I've taken to unplugging my 360's wireless dooby.

Anyhoo, I've tried playing Worms 3 times now offline, and when I click Single Player it says "checking content" for ages and then the whole game just freezes.
This is the only game I've had this problem with and the 360 seems fine other than that, so is there a problem with Worms having to be online even to play Single Player?
For what it's worth, this isn't a problem related to a different machine to the one the game was bought on as (touch wood) this is still my first 360.
I'm off to check it works online now, but has anyone come across this? Should I try deleting it and re-downloading it?

I had a similar problem playing Crackdown offline with DLC.

Didn't you change your gamertag? Could it be related to that? or did you just rename your gamertag?

Hmm, it could be due to the DLC or old gamertag. I thought though that any tag can play a game on the same machine?

Usually yes, but like I say, I've had Crackdown DLC behaving strangely.

Have you still got the old gamertag? Maybe sign in to that on another pad?

EDIT: if you still have no joy, maybe try that new DRM fix?

Well, it works when I'm online, so maybe I will have to try that fix.

I seem to recall being unable to play it when I didn't have my 360 hooked up to live, and I've never changed my gamertag.
