SmallOfBooty wrote:Andy, you can't dip in and out of the Wire, it'd be like reading random pages in a book and trying to construct the story. Personally I love that scene where they solve a plot mystery by working the crime scene anew and communicate all the revelations and air of discovery via the word ****.
Fair point, i do intend to give it a proper go when lovefilm get around to sending me the dvd's. I can never watch this sort of thing on TV, i much prefer watching the dvd's, so i can watch when i want to, it's so much easier. I can't really pass judgement on it after one and a bit episodes, i'll give it a proper chance when i get around to it.

The Wire fans rejoice again!
The Corner got a Region 2 dvd release last week -
Amazon link
The book the series is based on was released this month too
Amazon link
After only one episode I'd already say it's a must-watch for Wire-istas.

The show 'Future Weapons' is not nearly as awesome as the title suggests
There is some cool stuff in there though, like the German rapid-fire artilery vehicle that can fire five shells at different angles so that they all impact at the same time

I watched the season finale of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on Saturday. The second series started off good, went great, then poor, then very poor, but I'm happy to say (for me at least) it went out with a bang. It may or may not come back for a third series, which is fine with the way things were left. However, if it does get a third series, then the direction it took could prove to be very interesting indeed.

I'm getting right back into Heroes now, which is odd. Really enjoyed the most recent BBC2 episode, the best one they've done in ages. I do agree that it's nowhere near as good as it used to be in the first season, but, y'know, it's OK. I think the problem is a lack of direction: the writers really don't seem to know where the hell they're going with it.

Miss Marvellous wrote:Just finished watching the 1st two seasons of Dexter after missing it on TV, and wow what a show. Think I will get the books and give them a shot too.
Also picked up season 1 & 2 of Supernatural from ASDA today for £10 each!!!
Dexter's probably my favourite TV show ever. I don't think there's a single bad episode. I've read the first book too (which is what the first season of the show was based on), it's pretty good, but if you've seen the series then you obviously know the 'twist'. The ending's completely different, mind. The other books don't follow the same timeline as the series at all, I really want to read them mostly for that reason! Btw, season 3 starts this Friday on FX at 10pm (I can't wait!!!) in case you don't know
Also, Supernatural is amazing. The first season's a bit hit and miss, with a fair share of duff episodes, but it evens out a lot for the second season. My advice is to stick with it. The current season (4) is bloody good!
