i'm interested in principal (as I saw the word 'metal') but I havn't done this 'cd swap' business before. how does it work? could somebody pm me or something?
Basically, people get put into groups of four, and each member makes a 'mix tape' which they then send to the three other members of the group and vice versa. The CD can contain anything; be it your favourite music or more obscure stuff you think people would like, but the general idea is to expand musical horizons and listen to stuff that's a bit different or that you wouldn't usually think of listening to. Since everyone has pretty different music tastes you never know what you're gonna get.

I don't really listen to much metal. I could make another mix of really fast hardcore punk and you could pretend you're listening to metal though?

I'm up for it, although my metal tastes are fairly pedestrian. Also, can we put in a clause that says we don't have to write a review? I tried, really I did, but there just isn't time...

Right, the groups are:

Chimp
Coyote Smith
Supergorgonizer
Snaggletooth
Richman

Soundwave5150
Bionic Commando
Shaolin Monkey
Zero One
Aidanon

PM each other your addresses for the CDs. No particular need for feedback/critique of people's taste.

now seeing as how the other cd swap was a good way to introduce people to music they may not have heard, and as everyone involved in this one is already into metal, can i suggest that we put songs on the cds that we think people may not have heard and should hear. rather than filling the cds with our "favourite" tracks
otherwise we'll end up with about 4 cds full of slayer, pantera, metallica... manOwar... etc

But I don't know ManOWar! :D

I say go for your favourites along with some lesser known tracks - after all; it's nice to listen to a CD and recognise a few tracks; it gives you hooks to get more 'used' to the CD. :D

Sure, so find obscuremetal tracks. Should be easy enough. Dopethrone anyone? Or is that Stoner Rock? Gaaah! Thrown at the first hurdle!
