Monty Oum's new video: Dead Fantasy I

Post by Itchigon » Sun Oct 14, 2007 7:37 pm

If anyone has seen Haloid then you know who i am talking about. This guy is incredibly talented in animation and he's just released a new video, Dead Fantasy I. It is a mix between characters from Final fantasy and Dead or alive.

It's very cool. Though obviously Yuna would've just summoned Yojimbo to Zanmato their asses. And is it wrong of me not to know who the girl at the end is?

Yes, yes it is. In fact, get out and don't come back.

First one needs some kind of 3D modelling/animation software like 3D Studio Max or Maya, then some game model and texture ripping programs, and lots of time to do the actual animation (which is the hard part).

Guess having done some courses in using software like that would be useful too ;)

Not sprites, 3d models and textures ;)

I think he's using the 'it's legal until one gets a C&D letter' method. Which rarely gets sendt out.

SquareEnix is one of the companies who likes to send them out though.

Aren't these sort of things fine as long as the person using them doesn't make any money off them?

Nice animation and coreograhy again.

I have the same problem with this one as with the Haloid one. (no I don't mean the really dodgy ending)

If they're going to do stuff or have abilities they can't / don't do in the games, then why not just use original characters instead?

Cause it would take lots of hours to make such characters?

And he prolly couldn't upload it to gametrailers either if he did ;)

Maybe he's rubbish at designing stuff? Maybe he tried creating original characters and they looked like a puddle of sick in hot pants?

I think he's making money off of gametrailers because on his page in the top right it shows $, don't know if these are real or just gametrailer dollars but he could be making money and i hope he is, it's a brilliant movie.

I really expected Paine to turn up at the end as the others are X-2 models.
