Your not on your own there, i love oldskool jungle and drum n bass i went to a few raves when i was younger accelerated culture vs one nation in milton keynes was an experience for sure.

I wish i was old enough to go to flashback though when it was held at the Q club that would of been amazing. I've got a few tape packs here of the old flashback nights from '98 with SL2, Mickey Finn, Rat Pack, Top Buzz and Jumpin Jack Frost on the decks. Must say i'm not into the new D n B though, the stuff that sounds like pendulum tracks, the old stuff is by far better i reckon.

Yea, some of the new DnB is crap and very samey! A lot of people seem to associate it with the 'chav' culture a lot so thats also another big downside!
I usually try and stick with the more underground artists when choosing records. Chemical records is probably the best site for DnB. Usually takes me all day to pick about three tunes though

I downloaded a few albums before, the style was a little different to what I normally listen to. Still some good tunes on there, I will have to dig them out and have a listen.

I've never heard of them but as i say i'm a fan of the old stuff more than new give me an old nicky blackmarket tape to listen to anyday. The newer stuff i like are tunes like this

It's deffo associated with chavs but you will definately find a lot of students and dudes listen to it aswell, the fanbase is quite big so there is a variation of fans and it beats bassline house anyday (chav kids music)

This is off his new album, and is obviously not very drum n bassy, but he's playing a bass guitar, so that's the bass part. It's a good track though. You'll probably need to turn your speakers up though.

And thats that saved to my favourites , one of the best live shows I've ever been to, too bad I only got to see half of it because I had to go look for my mate who had been kicked out for being too tall, who could that of been

As this was only last month a quick cut and paste...

An overdose of Love and Bowie as a child, followed by Doors, Hendrix, Zeppelin and then Suede, then a bit of Primal Scream, shoegazing a la Ride and Slowdive and Cure and the obligiatry Smiths. Then onto the entire Britpop shebang, Blur, Oasis, Bis, Mogwai, Arab Strap, Pulp, Marion, Charlatans, Lemonheads, etc. College was a bit of trip hop with Massive Attack, DJ Shadow, Peshay, Tricky, and the bristol sound, bit of Lamb, Ruby. Uni was Nick Cave, Tindersticks, Cinerama, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Sleaty Kinney, Leonard Cohen etc. Now I'm an old git, not as much, Interpol, Cold War Kids, Kaiser Chiefs, Noel Coward, and starting to get into metal due to Guitar Hero as it's the type of music I never ever ever would listen to.

This week I have bought the new Brett Anderson solo album, old Tricky album that I lost, a Tommy-Boy raritys album and trying to get hold of some 80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster.

It did not help working in a record shop during the late brit-pop scene. All my music is originalys. And when i say listen to, I mean that artists entire back catalogue. You can't beat a bit of Miles on a Sunday though.

On the plus side Marion have reformed and I'm trying to get to see Juliette Lewis and the Licks in Portsmouth end of the month.
