Nearly finished with World War Z, about 20 pages to go. After that I don't know. I wish Philip Pullman would get a move on and release The Book of Dust.
Any-one got any sudjestions for a H.P. Lovecraft / Neil Gaiman fan.

Cormac McCarthy - "The Road".

A man and his son walk across what can only really be described as a post-apocalypse America. It's really well written and enjoyably grim. It also won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction- but really it's only two steps away from being a trashy end-of-the-world novel- which is a good thing.

Curretnly reading The Last Wish. You know the PC game 'The Witcher' that's coming out in September? It's one of the books that it's based on. It's the first time any of those stories have been translated into English too. If you like your fantasy dark and with a twist i highly recomend this.

Killing Pablo by Mark Bowden. About drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. Less than halfway through, but a great read so far. What has struck me most so far is quite how dangerous a country Colombia was and is. I had a chance to visit Colombia recently (my other half is half-Colombian and visited relatives) and while I regret not being able to go, this book is making me glad I didn't :D

So yeah. Interesting stuff and a bit of an eye opener for those of us living in a relatively peaceful part of the world.

Finished all 3 of Steve Niles's book. They guy that writes the 30 Days of Night vampire comics, it's also getting made into a movie that'll be out at Halloween. His book follow Cal MacDonald, an alchoholic, druggy, private detective, monster hunter living in LA and NY. Quite good trashy novelas that only take you about a week to get through. Plus, each one is only £1.50 off Amazon.

Now I'm onto Good Omens by Terry Prachet and Neil Gaiman. I've been puting this one off for a while cause I can't realy get into Prachet's humour, but I am a big Gaiman fan, read all his books, so I'll let the Prachet thing slide for him.

Just finished Inside Out by Nick Mason, very entertaining book about Pink Floy'd history up to Live8. Now i'm reading A Multiitdude of Sins by Richard Ford. I love his books. Independence Day is easily one of the best books i have ever read. :)

I'm halfway through that one. Surprisingly funny book if a little heavy going at times.

It's another book from 'legendary' anti religion heathen Richard Dawkins where he wibbles on about how man's belief of god is necessitated by evolution. I think.

I'm a big fan ;)

The God Delusion is a book that blasts religion as, well, a delusion. Haven't read it though - so can't say whether it's worth a look or not. Maybe it is - but I'm just a bit deluded

I'm reading Silverthorn. Honestly, I don't read anywhere near the amount I used to....

How do you all do it?
