The C-Word V: ...Weirdest Year Ever?

Post by Pious the chosen » Thu Nov 03, 2016 8:22 pm

Christmas. Its that time again for this thread to return Forumites, as it has become its own tradition. This year had The Co-Op selling Mince Pies in July, decorations spotted mid-August, a F*ck-ton of super important famous people die and political insanity spread across the western world like wildfire. That being said...

So as usual IT is nearly upon us you know the drill :D

Discuss, rant, be merry.

Charity Christmas cards ordered.
Christmas shopping started.

Since my birthday is November 9th, that is usually as early as I start thinking about Christmas.

As Normal the first I heard of Christmas this year was back in May and gradually been drip feeding in with purchasing till now where I have pallets of crackers arriving multiple times a week.

Really is nothing like making you an absolute humbug on the run up to christmas, that being said come X-mas day still love it, just dont ruin my dinner by putting a cracker in my place or all hell will break loose.
Well I'll grumble a bit at least.

It's like normal occasion to me. I'm used to see people were busy planning what gifts to buy or what will be their theme for their upcoming christmas party.
So, it's usual event for me.

Baby's presents: Done
Wife's birthday presents: mostly done
Wife's Xmas presents: started

Pretty much at the same point I am every year. Although we went to The Range today (a weird place, sells all sorts of homewares and other random crap) and the wife went a bit Christmas crackers.

But I'm happy to get on board this year so the little man has a good one.

I am 90% done with xmas shopping at time of writing. Now my working hours will be a delightful 6.30am-5.30pm over the season, so I will be left hefty chunk of extra cash to spend on.. moi?

I think I really want to get back into gaming...

My Christmas plans is to hide from reality and catch up on Bloodborne and FFXV. Have not thought about gifts yet, see what comes up on Black Friday.

Found some nice Fallout 4 ringbound A5 size notebooks (90 lined pages) in the Asda Home store today for £3.99 each, 2 designs, one with Vault Dweller on the front, the other with the Nuka Cola girl.

Decent stocking fillers for a fan.

Probably the ones left over from last year relabelled, so if you didn't like last year's, you'll try again as it's a 'New' recipe

 phew finally the worst is over.

Sadly it was only an average Christmas eve for my work, though we sold all our turkeys the torrential rain and winds kept passing trade to a minimum.

That said Friday was the best we've had in years as most people came out then ...but feck me it was knackering, a 6am start till 2am this morning, then back at six till a merciful 4pm today.

:D best of all the weather should mean i'll have a very quiet day tomorrow...just as well as i'll probably sleep through most of it.

Merry Christmas !
