But thanks to the insipid Proportional representation system they are now in a position to form a coalition with the centre right which during the election had swung further right in response to the Democrat threat.

Its the same pattern across the EU, politics is leaving the centre ground which can only be a bad thing for the future.

EDIT : More on the results...

With the left only ahead by 2 the dems do hold the cards, but more likely is a minority government but time will tell.

What's going to happen with this potentially is you get an intensification of the GPDR effect. In that if you're a small web based media outlet or whatever you are not going to jump through the legal and financial holes to make sure you're complying with a very opaque set of laws and you're just going to geoblock the EU entirely.

The LA Times still hasn't reactivated itself for European audiences, I bet they never do if this goes through which it probably will now.

What does it mean for a site like Giantbomb for isntance, which made its name on commentary over videos of games. It would be too onerous for them to comply I would think.

Look we (Ireland) voted no

Interesting thing I've noticed about that GDPR thing, quite a few of the sites I use started complying with it at first then just 4 weeks ago stopped.

Basically I delete all cookies every time I end a session online so get hit by GDPR, but both Dual shockers and Gemastu both stopped them also Siliconera has never had a cookie warning on ever.

:?: could it be some American sites have just decided to ignore the EU rules now :?: …..maybe Trump gave them the OK

Sweden is one of the most irreligious countries in the world. Why are people voting for the Christian party? :?

With the EU voting to censure the Hungarian government for its racist policies, what do the Conservative MEPs do?

Vote with the right-wing anti-Semitic Hungarian fascists.

The start of that Woodward book talks about the KORUS act, free trade act between US and South Korea and how its maintenance is important to keeping the anti-missile defence systems in SK up and running so US can see NK missiles within 7 seconds or something.

Anyway the 'I took the memo away from his desk' stuff is related to that. Every month or so Trump drafts a letter saying he wants to withdraw to reduce the deficit in spite of the massive national security problems it would involve (they can also detect NK missiles from Alaska, but time to detection is 15 minutes versus 7 seconds. An NK missile could reach LA in 38 minutes). Gary Cohn has takes the letter away from his desk every time it comes up until he forgets about it.

I guess they are still doing this as we speak?

Anyway on Twitter he is claiming that Peurto Rico was a huge success but also blaming a very inept mayor for it being a disaster. 3000 confirmed dead so far.

I think the media have a lot to answer for too though as this is one of those stories which just drops off the headlines until Trump tweets about it.

Turns out this is fake news as well
3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000...

.....This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!
no words tbh

Does he not realise that old people could have had their lives shortened by the fact that there's bugger all infrastructure to sustain living. Stuff like food and water, medicine, air conditioning and all that go a long way to preserving someones life. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to manage 2 weeks in Puerto Rico just after the hurricane devastated it. It'd have ruined him.

He's just not normal.

Funny thing is they could pick any wanker off the street and they'd be a better president. They'd have better success implement the Republican's agenda.

Make maf president. He could do a better job I'm sure. He'd be shit, but not this shit.

To clarify, the death toll is officially 300 with over 3000 dying of preventable diseases since the hurricane.
Of course Trump denies this high toll and any blame for not dealing with the emergency better.

Having thoughts like that is considered mutiny. You can be strapped to the same nuke as Trump see how much you love him then
