Uzumaki

Ok, it's official. Kurouzu-cho (the town of the story) got it a lot worse than Silent Hill

With Tomie, we were given the story of a virulent and parasitic Succubus. Uzumaki... Is something else altogether. This is unflinching preternatural horror and it's glorious. Although this time there are technically two protagonists, it ultimately doesn't matter or make a difference in the finale. That said, there is no real antagonist to this one either. It's Silent Hill, as if designed by Lovecraft with the sensibilities of Asian Horror. Read it 10/10

Preternatural is a word what I learned from Moby Dick

It mean shit that be fucking nothing which should exist.

I got it from H.P. Lovecraft. Perfectly apt for Ito's work too.

Gyo

The third book in the Ito HC Collection... Enter the Hentai
This is a weird one. Wherein we deviate to Sci-Fi horror and by the time of the ending (you'll note this book is a smaller, easier read I finished in two days) I'm not entirely sure what to make of it? The nature of the threat is a bit too vague and the whole circus part made no real sense at all. It's actually kind of a non-ending and if this story were the sole content of this volume, I would mark it down heavily, being the weakest of the three HC books. This wasn't all there was though. There were two bonus tales.

The sad tale of the principal post - This story was hard to classify, as it isn't horror... To be fair this is no real story at all. Nor does it actually make any sense. But it's there I suppose.

The enigma of the Amigara Fault - Now this was interesting. The mystery of the premise was intriguing. The whole back bone of the story could almost be seen as a parable on blind faith. The ending to this one, was the Ito payoff I'd come to expect from the previous books. 8/10

If you gave it an 8 it must be terrible.

It’s impossible to tell. Sometimes he gives an 8 to things which are great but he thinks are terrible and sometimes he gives an 8 to things that are terrible but he really likes.

I've already requested a refund, I can't imagine how awful this book must be if it gets 8/10 from Pious :o

Gatchaman/G-Force/Battle of The Planets (Google any of those names)

The Original Sentai show. It's from the 70's but it's still fantastic.

Maybe that’s where, I don’t know anything about it but I have definitely seen those characters before
