 Ted Kord Died

Wow I really am out of touch, I know I have most of his run somewhere, and don't worry Maf ive got some JLA/JLE somewhere as well but you know the funny ones....jeez Kord 's dead.
Jeem, the cover above was following Death of Superman. This iteration of the Justice League were not killed.. just soundly beaten by Doomsday, with one arm tied behind his back (literally).

Ted Kord survived that. Not This however....

To you.
 The pedantic answer. Maf, you know as well as I, prior to the forced popularity of the MCU roster, for the past 30+ years the X-Men and Spider-Man were Marvel Comics. You were either a fan of one or both. The rest of the Marvel Universe were niche characters you might also like but couldn't talk about to non comic book reading friends.

Short Version: Maxwell Lord has telepathy and is controlling Superman. WW gets him in the lasso and asks how to release his hold, to which he replies he never will (or something like that). WW's answer is execution. This ultimately causes a rift between The Trinity and I believe WW is kicked off the Justice League for a while after this.

That was all pre-New52. As of Rebirth, Maxwell Lord has resurfaced and I think Ted Kord has too.

By that logic the thing you should be a fan of is the Fantastic Four because they were Marvel's original mega selling front running most popular comic book. Times change, trends change. X-Men were the most popular characters, that isn't how it is anymore. Same as Spider-Man, same as FF, same as Superman, yada, yada. Give it a few years it won't be the Avengers either.

You seem to consistently confuse entitlement to popularity (not that that's a thing anyway) with the thing that you like. Doesn't work like that.

Yet there was no logical case for comparison at play there. I stated fact, applicable for a certain period of time. The only period in time in Marvel Comics I give a sh*t about. I don't care about what other people considered popular prior, nor what is trending now. Rule No. 1 of Pious: I don't give a sh*t what other people think. That might sound conceited, but the application of that being if I don't know you (random YouTube comment, for example) why should care what you think about my hobby?

The fact is I care about this:

over this:

Because I am actually invested in the former. To be fair, I probably wouldn't be interested in the MCU if I were a kid today either, but that's just me. The only opinion I ever share is my own, couldn't care less about what other people consider 'popular'.

No we just went around in a big, dumb circle.

You said these are the most important characters

I said to you

You said no, they are most important because of this X number of years span

I said that's dumb because there is a time and after that span things change

You said you don't care that things change because what's important to you is important to you

Start again from the top

Big

Dumb

Circle
