Your welcome and I hope you fined something.WonderMel wrote: Coolio, thanks pal! I'll try that out
Erm, I did a pilot sitcom for the BBC that was shown on christmas day a coupla years ago, but nothing ever came of it. And acting work's kinda dried up since though so teaching pays the bills for now!

Noooo! Too embarrasing. Plus, it's in Gaelic so you wouldn't have understood it unless you speak dying scottish languages and it's not available on the iplayer any longer
But I will treat you to this webpage http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00g79nr
and a picture of my costume

My dressing room was in between Primal Screams and Mark Kermode but I didn't see either of them. Those were the days...

Re: Jobs
Are you with an agent WonderMel? I was with one about a year and a half ago now, but for various reasons (i.e. money) I had to give it up. I'm trying to work my way back in now though, and from previous experience, it's probably not worth me bothering any just yet as the first thing they'll pick up on is the fact I haven't done any acting work since January 2009
Re: Jobs
I don't care how hard up you are, there is no excuse for perpetuating Gaelic. I can't believe how much of my tax money goes to supporting a useless, dead language that less than 2% of the Scottish population speak.
There is some Gaelic advert on TV right now and it seriously pisses me off. I have no idea what it is for but I hope it bombs.

No, I thought I might get one of the back of that pilot but no such luck. And it's cool my last acting job was a year ago tooalistair_thomas wrote:Are you with an agent WonderMel? I totally pretend that I love tutoring the kiddie and I do, but everytime I see some awesome play or film I'm like DAMMIT I wish I was in that.
I think you pretty much need to make your own work these days.

It was a typo. It should have looked like this "Your welcome and I hope you find something." Again, thank you for pointing out my typo and my disdain for proofreading. You get a cookie for a job well done.Bilge Rat wrote:Why would you wish for her to have issued a penalty payment to something?Killer_Carp wrote:Your welcome and I hope you fined something.

Re: Jobs
I was with Corinne Callum Associates. Unfortunately she's no longer working as an agent, but she's an actress herself and still (I think) in Mamma Mia in London. She was really good though, and got me a decent number of auditions (just a shame I didn't manage to land much work. One audition for a TIE show it was down to me and one other guy, and the other guy got the job because he had more experience
)
I've had some new headshots done recently though, going with a different look and I'm currently working a temp job that should last up until Christmas. My plan for the moment is to carry on and see if I can get some work with the panto company I worked for a few years ago. I'm thinking it might be a good way of getting 'familiar' with it all again, before I make a push for myself.
A group of my friends are really going for it though - they formed a theatre group a while back and have a production in Camden next month, and I think they're taking it to Edinburgh this year. They've got a launch party on Friday too which should be good

Re: Jobs
Mark Kermode is a film critic. Quite highly regarded in the UK, but not he most interesting of people.
Sooner him than Jonathan Ross, who was passed off as a film critic but had all the journalistic integrity of HEAT magazine.

That sounds like a good sensible idea. Familiar work is good, specially when you've been out the loop for a while. I've started thinking I must've forgotten how to do it all so I can imagine jumping into something totally new would be terrifying.alistair_thomas wrote:I was with Corinne Callum Associates. Also, I'm heading through to the festival at somepoint so let me know how the show is and I might hit it up with a looky. Let me know how you get on nearer christmas though too.
Haha, ok I'll try and answer in order then...Killer_Carp wrote:

1) It's my phone that I'm using to take the picture sneakily cos for some mad "Press" reasons we weren't allowed to have pictures of our costumes. This tiny wee miniscule pilot nobody watched and they're worrying about press!!
2) Erm, he's a film reviewer who's got his own show over here. Quick google you'll find him.
3) Yeah it's pretty similiar. My gran used to be able to hold up conversations with irish people not bad, but my gaelic's no where near good enough. Think they used to be the same language back in the day.
