Yeah, it will, although I think only one PS2 game supported 1080i (Gran Turismo 4), so it'll just be upscaled into progressive scan with that cable.

Although you'll probably find most games look better anyway. Depends on your TV really, but mine handles PS2 RGB really badly and component offered a massive improvement.
