Had a play through as Yoshi as my daughter wanted me to use him, this was on classic mode, unlocked my favourite character from Melee, Marth, so I'm happy with that.

However, anyone else think the Wiimote+nunchuck control system feels a little sluggish and clumsy?

I've only tried playing with the GC pad to be honest.

Have played as Kirby and Mario now, using the cube pad, and it feels much much better, faster response, less clumsy, etc.

Where are we swapping codes for this? Do you have to have my Wii code as well as the Smash Bros code and does each party have to input their codes for people to appear on your "Friend Roster"?

My copy arrived today and I've spent the best part of it playing through the Subspace Emissary mode with my girlfriend. It's okay, but I don't feel like it was designed for two people, similar to Sonic 2 in the way that the second player feels a bit superfluous. Irritatingly the game often switches between simply teleporting my girlfriends character to my current location Sonic 2 style or dock us a life.

Other than that the AI seems a bit tougher than Melee. Hopefully I'll get back on it again tonight.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s Wii debut was bettered only by Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii, and sees the game claim the top spot ahead of fellow new entry, Battlefield: Bad Company from EA.

Last week’s bestseller, Lego Indiana Jones, falls two places to No3, while renewed stock sees Wii Fit jump from No27 to No4 following a 643 percent sales increase. THQ’s Wii-exclusive Big Beach Sports enters at No5.

Former chart topper Metal Gear Solid 4 is at No6, while Mario Kart Wii re-enters the top ten at No7. Take-Two Top Spin 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV take eighth and tenth respectively, while Sega’s Beijing 2008 is sandwiched between the pair.

Picked this up this morning. So far so good, even though I've only played a stage of Subspace Emissary and training mode with Link and Pit. I don't think I like the Remote/Nunchuck style. I'm amazed at how much stuff they've crammed in already though! This is going to keep me going for a while, I think...

Are people going to post their friend codes in the SSBB friend code thread?

There is one but it only contains 2 codes, one of them being mine

I stuck yours onto my list on the game Satan's Therapist, last I checked it stated it was still registering or something. Christ almighty the wii's way of doing things is stupidly backwards

Have to say I'm quite suprised about the lack of chat on the forum for what is quite a big and important game for Nintendo. Certainly a flagship release for Wii. I'm thoroughly enjoying it, spent most of the weekend playing it. Gonna get online over weekend and probably get my arse kicked! Any truth that online is quite laggy?

I am finding this game seriously addictive. I mean really, they packed more content on the disk than anyones managed on a blu-ray. This is going to take forever to complete!

I second that.

Delboy, the main reason why there has been a lack of chatter, is that a lot of us have been playing it since the American release some months back.

Just out of interest........we now have Wii codes, Mario Kart codes and SS Bros codes. Will every online Nintendo game have a different code? Why can't the games just use your Wii code like the PS3/360 only use gamertags?
It's a pain in the arse having to keep swapping codes and register them.

It sure is. And that's not even mentioning all the codes involved in the purchasing of 'shop channel' games.

One code just for the wii would be good, that should be enough I think. No one has to hand over their code to someone or it put it up on a forum like this and even if someone did get your code when you didnt want them to obtain you can delete their code. Just out of interest though whats the worst that could happen if anyone gets your wii code? its not like they can abuse, bully or groom any one cos the wii doesnt have any voice chat support.
