 yup there's nothing quite as satisfying as poisoning the wine of a bandit camp in the dead of night and then skipping time till dawn and looting the bodies.

It's a great way to earn cash more than repaying the cost of buying the ingredients…. :!: by the by have you tried the alchemy yet :?:

It may seem cumbersome but there a significant grey area on timing so it hard to get wrong as long as you follow the instructions.

Nope haven't tried alchemy at all, is there a tutorial/tutor somewhere for that?

After finishing off the Ginger mission I took a wander back to the starting village to find the loot under a dovecote up there, then went and spoke to Lady Stephanie at the castle who asked me to pick up some items for a wedding. But I think I'll just do a bit more free wandering to understand more of the game mechanics.

I also need to visit the scribe to learn to read, and I've still not visited the bathhouse (got by so far by washing in troughs) or neither have I tried wooing the miller's daughter.

There's just so much to do.

Yeah i'm afraid you need to learn to read first otherwise all the writing in books is gobbledygook, I think the scribe is in Uzhits was the one to teach me.

There is a whole side story mission tied to brewing potions (wont spoil it, you'll stumble across it eventually).

But the simplest way is to go round the right side of the Apothecary in Rattay, look to your left and enter the laboratory behind the store :!: don't try to pick the lock though :!:

Did a bunch of stuff related to Lady Stephanie's wedding quest (got the roan (horse) and the gem for the headdress) learnt to read, killed some bandits, then went to the monestary and weeded the herb garden (wow, lots for leveling up for doing that!)

This game is fab, shame it's been a bit sidelined, perhaps they should have got Bethesda to sell it as an Elder Scrolls reboot.....

Finished the wedding quest for Lady Stephanie (was awful in the archery tourney (hit the target just 3 times) but convinced the winner to give me the wine for free anyway). Lady Stephanie was, well, surpringly pleased, as was I with her reward!

Now deep into the investigation about the stone at the monestary, (been back to quarry, and investigated devil skull) now have to meet someone up the scaffold at night, that doesn't sound like a trap now does it.

Did a bunch of alchemy (insomnia potions) & activities at the infirmary too, albeit one of the guys died in the time it took me to track down the missing priest in order to uncover the remedy for the disease. Oh and the custodian threw me in prison for being cheeky to him, but I subsequently did the relic quest for his guard, so I'm sure that'll help me later.

Oh and also bought a pokey sword, since my swing attacks are poor (aiming) and stabbing is much easier. Lockpicking is getting better, but I'm still not great with the bow, but the infirmary wants meat, so I'll be off hunting soon.

The bow doesn't really get very steady till Lv. ten or so, after that I began hitting more than missing.

:!: By the By. be sure to buy some dark low noise kit when you go hunting, simple clothing is best as you can half the distance before rabbits would detect you.

:!: or if your purse is heavy you can always just buy it at the Local Butcher

I've often thought that open world RPGs should have some sort of time mechanism to compel you to do quests, rather than letting you collect flowers and get diverted with side quests whilst the often applied trope of impending apocolyptic doom waits patiently in the background until you decide to address it.

However I'm not sure that KCD has quite got the balance right in terms of giving no particular notion as to whether a quest is time bound, especially when you can address quests in different ways.

I spoke to Sir Davish who was concerned about the stone supply to the monestary, which was an area I'd not been to, so declined his offer to investigate. I later found the monestary and the workers there explained the stone issue from their perspective & the accident too. Also I visited the infirmary and did a few quests there, before tackling the issue of the stone & accident, by finding the devil skull and ultimately challenging the scaffolder about it, who then said meet him at night. I then investigated the stone itself, then had to travel to the quarry, but didn't get there until evening, and none of the workers would talk to me, until I'd waited until morning.

Then when I returned to the monestary the mastercraftsman chastised me for missing the nighttime meeting. I later went back to see Sir Davish, who thanked me for sorting out the stone supply problem, but didn't reward me (since I'd never accepted his quest).

I then went hunting to get the meat for the infirmary, but once I'd shot a deer, the quest was no longer there as either being active or failed.

Oh well.

Been practicing my archery and getting reasonably good on the target range, but had a snag on a few occasions with the guards trying to arrest during the archery contest for shooting at people.

Not that there were people around, or that my aim was that wild either, but when I let it roll on, and agreed imprisonment, I got 11 days inside, which really penalised my stats (so I reloaded, but lost my archery exp - albeit I'm a pretty good shot now through practicing).

New 3GB patch today...

Kingdom Come: Deliverance should run much better after today’s patch.

At launch, Kingdom Come: Deliverance was a bit of a technical mess. Like Skyrim, this sprawling RPG remembers every item dropped, every NPC killed, and every interaction you’ve had.

Obviously, that fills up the memory and results in performance issues after a while. The latest patch does a few things to alleviate that stress on the system, such as removing the halberds guards drop upon death from the game.

•Henry can now wash away his sins by buying indulgences in
•churches.
•Physically simulated women’s clothing added.
•We scattered 16 new lore books around the world.
•Any forgotten or despawned quest items will now be moved to the
•gravedigger’s chest and the player will be notified via new quest”Lost
•and Found”.

On top of the bug fixes – of which there are well over 200 – there are also a few new features, including new lore books, a way to access lost loot, and the chance to wash away your sins in churches. There’s also a video about the patch and the future of the game.

Vid : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6op3AleIpSQ

8) that proposed combat documentary look interesting.

:| I tracked down that Vertex documentary as well : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sRvKRATNf0

8) and free DLC in a couple of weeks to 8)

:!: watch out Shiny, some spoilerish stuff amongst the fixes below...

•named Master Huntsman.
•The probability of ambush by just one stronger opponent is now much
•higher.
•It is no longer possible to kill your opponents in “Chumps” minigame
•without triggering crime.

•And 200 other bugs fixed.

I've not really found that many bugs, an occasional quirk but nothing out of the ordinary.

I've been scouting the big bandits camp, and dropped poison in a pot, but burning the arrows too seems a bit suicidal. Started the attack quest there too, but have a feeling that it's a bit climactic, so I'll go back to an earlier save to free explore and get some better gear.

Played a bit this morning, and the patch download kicked in (showed as 12.5 Gb, but only took around 45 mins, so perhaps it wasn't that big).

As above, I reloaded an earlier save (prior to staring the raid) to do some more free roaming, including wooing Theresa and having a brawl at the tavern, then starting the fist fighting quest.

I've still to return to the scorned woman, to get my reward, and have several treasure maps that I haven't investigated (albeit it took me ages to find the hidden mine for Map IV, only to get a 'very hard' locked chest at the end, which I cannot lock pick at my level).

Even once you improve your lock picking skills be sure to make some Padfoot potions it will make a difference believe me.

Not come across a recipe for Padfoot yet.

I did find the herbalist woman in the woods who had recipes for Bane & Poisons etc, does she sell that one too or do I need to find someone else?
