XCOM 2: War of the Chosen Expansion Receives New Character Trailer Showcasing The Reaper

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVJg_KrLzBA

In the new character trailer, we get to take a closer look at one of the games hero units, The Reaper. According to the trailer, the new faction uses a new form of stealth called “Shadow Concealment”. Shadow Concealment allows the unit to remain stealthed after initiating an attack. The unit is equipped with powerful vector rifles and explosive claymores which can be detonated by any soldier once it has been set by the reaper.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen will bring three new factions; the Reapers, Skirmishers and Templars. Each new faction has their own unique abilities and philosophies. The new factions will also provide new hero class soldiers to aid in battle. In addition to the new factions, the expansion will also include new environments and mission objectives.

Bearded Ladies and Funcom have given us the first big glimpse at Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in a 18 minute gameplay video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_jTJ00WKTk

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden runs on Unreal Engine 4 and follows the story a ragtag group of heroes, including an anthropomorphic duck named Dux, and a pig named Bormin. They are trying to find the legendary Eden, but in order to do so, they must survive in a mutant infested post apocalyptic world.

It sounds horrible from your description but actually looks really gritty and great. Was reading just today about some other XCOM style (now considered its own genre) games coming out this year and this wasn’t actually on that. So great news.

More like Wasteland the way it’s free move until combat starts.

On XCOM I actually started War of The Choosen this week, it’s a brilliant reworking.

Re: Turn Based Gaming : XCOM 2

This is the Police 2 got its first gameplay trailer today, and it reveals that the game will include brand new turn-based combat.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu-xKlBpT_4

Earlier this year, Weappy Studio and THQ Nordic announced This is the Police 2, a sequel to their 2016 adventure/management game. Today, This is the Police 2 received its first gameplay trailer, and it reveals that new tactical turn-based strategy gameplay is being added to the already solid foundation the first game established.

While the core management gameplay is mostly the same in This is the Police 2, when players take on more dangerous mission, the game switches over to a turn-based style. First, Players will have to create a squad of police officers to take with them, whether they are shining examples for the police force or corrupt bums. Then, once players are on the mission they’ll have to tactically control them in a turn-based system that evokes memories of XCOM.

That being said, This is the Police 2 does try to spice its typical turn-based strategy gameplay up by having a focus on non-lethal gameplay, as cops are not supposed to kill suspects. These battles are poised to be quite tough too, as some cops can die in a single hit from a well-placed bullet.

Hay I just play to the crowd, if I posted Mutant year zero or Police 2 in the news titbits thread Bunny might never had known so job done I think.

As for catch all threads I feel they have a place as many niche sub-genre games simply come and go without a mention.
