it's not, because there is new things in the level each time you enter, not like banjo where everything is static, you have to keep going in and out so they can set up new paths, what's lazy about making 1 level in to 6? plus, you do twice as much stuff in a mario game compared to any other platformer. it's full of new things to do all the time.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
All this "email with mine's on the way" business is making me seriously jealous.
I need to get this and GD:RB on Thursday this week as i'm going upto Leeds on friday and would like to give them both a quick spin before i go up there for the weekend.
But unfortunately it seems like GAME, this time, is conspiring against me as this hasn't been despatched yet and GD:RB has just been released for picking and packing...so it looks like both will be despatched tomorrow which means i won't get both until Friday...this wouldn't usually annoy me, but this means now it looks like i won't be able to play both until Monday next week at the earliest

Good, that'll mean you can do something more useful with your time like clean your room or do some studying

My copy has arrived
Hats off to Shopto for getting it to me so quickly, I wasn't expecting it until Thursday. After a few SSFIV I'll be sure to give it a good go

Hmm...does seem a tad early......ok, either he's a w****r for lying or a w****r for gettin' it early!!
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Right, I've played through the first world and it is indeed a fantastic game as all of the reviews have stated. The core game plays just like the last Mario Galaxy but as I'd hoped the level design is as brilliant as the first, no 2 levels are the same, no 2 star missions in the same level feel the same!
The switching between 2D and 3D is seemless and is an excellent touch which again helps to keep the gameplay fresh
Easily my favourite part of the game so far is Yoshi. I was quite disapointed at how badly he was handled in Sunshine but he is perfect in this one. As his tongue is handled with the remote grabbing enemies is a doddle and the Yoshi centric levels so far have been my favourites. The boss fight against the huge Lakitu was cool (and pretty tough in places).
The power ups are just as great as the first game, I've used the Fire Flower again and also the all new "Cloud Suit" which is really fun to use. I can just picture some of the evil levels later on which force you to cleverly use this to cross botteless pits
Lastly the graphics look excellent via component cables, as bright and vibrant as the last game yet it looks like they may have been improved on a bit as things look slightly sharper and cleaner than before but that just might be me. Also returning is the orchestral soundtrack which - like the first game sounds fantastic in the few levels I've played.
The PAL game comes in a slightly fatter cardboard box which in addition to holding the game also holds a tutorial DVD and an extra instructions sheet.
All in all, the game rocks
Oh, and as for winding you up - here's the game that is in my posession as I type:

Mine's been despatched today too from HMV (complete with a free t-shirt I'll probably never wear outside the house). Can't wait to get stuck into it.

If you ask me, if you need an instruction dvd to play video games - you shouldn't be playing them
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Especially as the game has an in game tutorial anyway. Thankfully most of it is dealt with using sign posts you can read so it doesn't clog up the flow of the game. Plus thats only really for the first 2 stages, after that the difficulty picks up nicely.therealjaxon wrote:If you ask me, if you need an instruction dvd to play video games - you shouldn't be playing them
