Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Bloody hell, is that all ordering through the same website, or do you think it's your postie/someone at the Post Office?! Losing 7 items is ridiculous; perhaps you should look into a retailer that uses a courier company (I think Gameplay do this), recorded delivery (ShopTo) or just buy in store. That sounds like an unbelievable pain in the arse.Mr Marvellous wrote:Mines not which means someone in the postal system has nicked it that's 7 items in the last 3 months now

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
My postman always gets the thing signed or takes it back. Can be a pain but never had anything stolen so I can't really complain.
And it would have to be a real bastard to steal the fun of Mario.

Wow, that is shit. I suppose at least with signed for, there's the idea that the sorting office or those responsible will get punished, as there's a breadcrumb trail to follow. I take it you can't use another delivery address to make sure stuff never turns up when no-one's around - I get most games sent to me at the office.Mr Marvellous wrote:5 with Shop To

Problem I have with couriers is nobody's is home to sign for them and the local office is miles away.
All the Shop To ones were with their signed for service which if I'm honest is a waste of time as 90% of the time Ive never bee asked for a signature and found the package on my doormat with the sticker the postie is supposed to peel of and put in their book so you can sign still on the packet
Next time they leave a signed for package unsigned on your doormat, you should phone up and complain, as your postie's not doing his job properly, and he's not even covering his own back. Or even better, phone up and say you haven't received your game, and because they have no signature they can't prove otherwise, so you'll be able to get another copy!

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
i said this after the first SMG but, i'm definitely right this time, and what i said was; this is it. no more mushroom kingdom, no more "realistic" physics, no more mario. that is it. platformers are done.
time for every one to crack on and innovate with every other genre because this one is finished. i'll welcome more platformers, sure, but there is nothing left to do. i'm sure this time.

I seen GAME on Oxford St was dolled up for the release of SMG2, there was a bit of a queue there the other night, i didn't hang around as i'd just gotten into town from Hammersmith and headed back to the hotel, i didn't buy the game there though, instead i picked it up at Stanstead along with Green Day RB, luckily saving about £16 quid in the process.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
oh, man. i just did the flip switch galaxy prankster comet level. fucking awesome. it's funny, when i saw a tiny bit of that level in the trailers, and i didn't think that much of it. but it really shows up my dependency on using the spin to land my jumps properly, and it punishes me for it because every time i spin the floor flips and what i was going to land on is no longer there.
plus it has one of the mightiest remixes ever.
i love how in this game you can spend 6-7 minutes doing something, then the next level you are doing something entirely different to what you were just doing. for instance, one level i was using yoshi as a blimp to glide...up? ( i dunno what qualifies as up most of the time. i fell through a spiral going round and round after falling in circles on a cylinder platform *shrugs*) then it takes you to a mario 64 secret slide type level, except the slide is a tree trunk, and you can go 360 round it while dodging the yellow caterpillars. then i'm gliding clouds on wind. avoiding cosmic clones. doing 2D levels where what is down changes every 30 seconds or so. first down is down, then up is down, then right is down if you're standing on the left wall. trying to dodge thwomps.
i love how other games train you do to something, and make it progressively harder as you go, where as SMG2 will give you something, then put you straight in to something else even though i was perfectly content doing what i was just doing. i actually wanted to keep doing the bee suit assault course, but jumping on platforms that are being cut up by buzz saws is to fun-er prospect to turn down. nuts.
i think my favourite levels so far have been the tutorial type level, where i got lost jumping on moving platforms. the first fight with bowser. they actually made him feel like a real foe this time, with him being 50 times your size floating above you trying to burn you with he's flame breath. then you butt stomp the golden planetoid things in to he's face.
and for nostalgia, was the first level you make yoshi run up the side of the walls while the super mario world athletic theme plays at 1.5 times speed when your speeding. has the little rope bridges and everything. amazing.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
I finally got Super Mario Galaxy 2 yesterday and I have started playing it. Wish me the best of luck, okay.
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Well, I've cleared the main game as well just now. 103 stars in 12 hours. The last stage was fantastic though the bit with Yoshi at the end was pretty devilish
Now onto the special world.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
I know there are some enthusiastic gamers on this site, but that's flabbergasting. (If that's still a word).Shadowman wrote:Well, I've cleared the main game as well just now. 103 stars in 12 hours. Is it on the Switch?
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
I did have the slight advantage of getting the game a few days early. Plus Nintendo has managed to make the most addictive game ever, its damn near impossible to put down!bellow wrote:I know there are some enthusiastic gamers on this site, but that's flabbergasting. 114 stars now after exploring the secret levels, now I just have the last of the Prankster comets to do. The difficulty of the levels on the secret world range from challenging to damn hard. If the words "Luigi's Purple Coins" strike fear into you then you will not like one of the levels at all I think!

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Got it yesterday but couldnt play it till today, its absolutely brilliant though, only about an hour into it and loving every second. The musical score is fucking magnificent as well, its one of those "everything is gonna be ok" games, where you can just lose yourself in the absolute joy of the world in front of you for a few hours, amazing.
